    posted a message on Damage to Unit - Triggers?

    @Fullachain: Go

    Yeah there are at least two ways of doing this in the galaxy editor.

    The first way is environmental (I forget exactly what it's called). The environmental effect allows you to deal damage from one unit to another.

    The second way is to modify unit property: life. Then specify life = current - damage. The problem with this second route is that it doesn't allow you to assign kills directly. I'm sure less roundabout solutions will appear in the future (and maybe they already have).

    posted a message on [Data] Create a missile weapon from scratch

    Thanks for creating this tutorial! I started using the galaxy editor about a week ago, and your tutorials are invaluable! Playing around with the data editor myself was a very slow process, and your tutorials have shaved off about 80% of the learning time.

    posted a message on Environment-specific Doodads

    Hmm... I tried what you're suggesting, but there isn't an actor specifically associated with the Jungle Rock Arch. There's just a single entry: "Rock Arch." I can change the related tilesets but it doesn't seem to have any effect on what appears when I place a Rock Arch on the map. I've tried several things and I still get the Wasteland Rock Arch

    posted a message on Environment-specific Doodads

    I've noticed that different tile sets result in different doodads. Currently my map is using a Xil-based tile set, so the environment is wasteland. I'd like to be able to place doodads that use the jungle environment, but I haven't found a way to do it. I would simply switch to a different base environment, but another region of the map requires doodads from the wasteland environment. Any advice on creating actors/models/something so that I can use different environmental effects on a map's doodads?

    posted a message on [Data] Unit duplication checklist

    Thanks for posting this. I'm new to map creation and was trying to sift through this myself just a few minutes ago. It was obvious that I didn't need to duplicate everything, but I wasn't sure so I'd been duplicating everything. It worked well until I'd duplicated about 5 units, then I realized what a mess I'd created

    posted a message on How to open HeroInventory with a Hotkey?

    I hope you get a reply to this. I'm not sure how to do this either (at least using the galaxy editor). I have no idea how to do handle the XML stuff so I'm doing everything directly through the data window of the galaxy editor. You change the "hotkey" for a button as shown here: http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/map-development/2445-button-hotkeys/

    I've done this with my inventory containers' buttons, and in game it says that the hotkey is as I've specified it. But when I hit the hotkey, nothing happens. Please help us! :)

    This is incredibly badass. Do you have an ETA on completion?

    edit: I've just started map creation, and so I can't create anything nearly so complex. I'd love to try to understand what you've done and incorporate it into my own map.
