@Mokse:
Guess you mean ->
Poll X = 5 good pictures = votes will split
Poll Y = 1 good picture = focus on this one picture / even though it might have lost v.s. pictures in poll X
(I'm not refering to any particular wallpaper/user/poll/whatsoever in this contest)
If that's what you mean, I totally have to agree.
peq got my vote ;)
a few things I'd like to say about how the polls are set up:
-it should be emphasized that it's multiple choice
-it shouldn't be split up in groups because that can cause advantages/disadvantages for some people
is there a way to change (flat) water so that units can't walk through it anymore? I could of course just make it deeper but that would change the appearance (and it would be a lot of work)
ah yes I totally forgot about it thanks =)
remains the problem that they're not running simultaneously...at first I thought that might be because different units have different walking-animations which is a logical explanation but then I noticed that even the same unit types aren't running uniformly. Any idea?
i did set up a camera position and took the screenshot in-game but i always have to hurry because after a short time the units start turning in random directions and i dont know why - its hard to make a good screenshot if you have just ~15seconds
I changed my mind about my pictures I postet above:
This is my actual picture (main submission):
If we are allowed to post more than one this is my 2nd picture: (I still dont know it since I didnt get an answer from the admins even though I asked several times)
Thx,
Lennywing
/e: As I said before, if a picture appears to be too dark thats because of your monitor - it's not supposed to be like that.
For an optimal appearance you need a dyn. contrast 30.000:1 (or something comperable)
Hmm i tried it now with setting up a camera angle and this trigger:
but for some reason the units aren't walking simultaneously and they start turning in random directions after a while...i really dont know what to do
how can i make a unit appear to be "moving" while being in the editor? I mean the unit isnt supposed to go anywhere it should just look like it would. Hope you know what i mean. (:
Because I didn't have enough time I had to shorten my project/idea for this contest. (as you can see if you dl the map)
Anyways - this is my entry:
For I have two monitors I noticed that you can barely see how it actually is supposed to look like if your monitor doesnt have enough "black-white-whatsoever i dont know the english word"
Therefore I uploaded another (brighter) screen that you can see (in case your monitor is bad) how it looks like -> now you have to put both maps together in your head ;)
(If you download the map, be careful -> its gonna kill your fps (takes 600mb ram to run on my computer))
I would really like to know how much screens we are allowed to present? I could easily post a whole bunch of pictures but I thought we are supposed to show just 1?
Quick answer would be nice since there are just two days left.

As Mozared said this is a pretty good basis.
Do something like this -> (go to ~ 3:25)
