I actually have the textures, I assumed they'd still work even if the model was converted. Do you need the textures to convert the model?

Just in case you do need the textures, here they are.

I appreciate it, however I've run into a bit of a problem. I imported it to my map but it still doesn't show up. I have limited knowledge with importing custom models and the like as I tend to rely on using SC2, but I imported it the same as I have any other model. I noticed it's an .obj file instead of an .m3 file, is that the issue?

It's from Empire at War which, if you know the game, should tell you that it's not ripped from a game. It was made for a mod, however it also serves nicely for my map since my map actually has ringworlds in it, that's why I would like it converted.

posted a message on [Request] Converting .alo to .m3

As the title says I have an .alo model that I was hoping to get converted into an .m3 so I can use it in my map. I tried downloading 3dsmax to do it myself but for various reasons I was unable to get 3dsmax, so I was hoping someone here would know how and be willing to convert it for me. I would really appreciate any help available.

Edit: Just realized I put this in the wrong section and can't delete it. Sorry for that.

Mind if I use this in my halo map? Having a cover shield ability for some of the heroes would be fantastic.

Welp, as I said I'm not going to turn you down, more help means things get done faster. Hit me up on skype and let me know when you're usually around. I'll send you the map so you can look it over and give you the run-down. For now I'm going to sleep, so if you're around in like 10 hours I'll be on then.

posted a message on Diplomacy eVolution

The best Diplo maps on WC3 were generally similar to each other. For example, Europa and Shogun were two very good diplo maps but they shared many features and were very very similar, if not exactly the same in terms of gameplay. But they offered different settings and flavor touches, and really that's what players want. You can't really revolutionize the diplo genre. You can add various touches, some tweaks to gameplay mechanics, but the core will always be the same. It's no different than any other genre. Every TD map is essentially the same, but you play them because specific towers are fun or you just like the general feel. SC2 has a distinct lack of good diplo/conquest maps, so anything to fill that void is welcome in my opinion.

And I am happy to accept anyone who wants to help, What exactly can you do, though?

I have an idea why you laughed, but please explain it to me so that I can be sure.

Japs never care about western copywrite stuff. I'm sure Blizzard may complain if they find out, but it's not like the japs are gonna say anything.

Also, good choice on using the best Neptunia.

Well, last time I worked on my map was back during launch, so I have forgotten much of what I learned back then. So being re-taught would be nice

Well I'm not one to turn down help, however let me clarify what exactly you're offering. You're not going to actually do work on the map, but provide essentially consultant work and teach me how to use the editor better? Or am I misunderstanding.

Also, for those structures, are those made purely through actors n whatnot, using in game models? Cuz they don't even remotely resemble vanilla stuff.

Naw, it's just the only half-decent chat program I know now that they closed off MSN... not that that stops me from still using MSN, but most people can't use MSN anymore. So Skype it is.

Well, we don't need cams or mics really, skype has a text function lol. I also have steam if you'd prefer to use that, however I don't know if I can send files through steam, as I never use it for chatting or anything.

Alright, I've never worked on a team before so not entirely sure how to go about this. So for starters how about you both add me on skype and I can go into more detail and send you my map so you can take a look. My email is [email protected].
