Did not know you could do that. I've not tried it, but, could person A upload a mod, and person B use it? Say if I wanted to do all the data work for a map, I'd publish and update a data-heavy mod. The other person would focus on terrain and/or triggers. Is that viable?
Yes of course it can. Why wouldn't it be viable? It's precisely what it's meant to be used as. xD
While the gigantic download is limited to one, I still see it as a problem. If several maps were several GB in size, I don't think I would download them to play.
When I want to play a game I prefer to play it as immediately as possible. There's still the wait for filling up lobbies and I don't want to use my internet download limit unless the map somehow proves elsewhere that it's extremely epic and worth playing.
This may be just me but if at least one other person agrees with me, this may be a bigger problem. We have plenty of Blizzard assets (I think) and I trust alot of us are creative and hope we get more out of less space ;)
LOL Trieva, i doubt there would be any SC2 map that would be several GB in size. At most it'll only be a few hundred MB. And with today's internet speed(unless you're from a third-world country) a few hundred mb only takes several minutes to download. Of course, you are still right that some people might be turned off by the download size, but that's a risk I'm willing to take if i can increase the quality of my map.
Large mod sizes are clunky. People with slower internets likely won't play because of longer download times in the arcade. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's also alot of downloading if the map is updated frequently.
Well that's only usually on the first dl if you're using multiple mod files, as the mod files themselves usually don't get updated. That would mean the first download is huge, but subsequent updates are only to your core map file, which is really small.
Just a question regarding the player limit thing. Would it be considered a disadvantage scoring-wise if the map requires the full 6 players in order to be played at its best(though less than 6 is still possible, but much harder)? The reason I'm asking is the map that I'm currently planning to make has the players set into specific roles. While players can switch and use these roles interchangeably, and in more roles than one at a time, it is still more ideal to have the full 6 in play.
Also, is there a file size limit for the map? (coz i noticed WAH has been submitted for the contest) And if no(or the size limit is extensive), is it possible to request a file size extension for my account from Blizzard? So that I don't have to spread out my files into separate accounts instead of a single one.
Hi all, I'm looking for someone to create a Logo(minimap preview) for my upcoming map "Star Exodus". If you're interested post here or pm me and I will provide you with the details. Thanks!
It doesn't work as it should. Using a calldown effect REMOVES a charge from the Launch Ability(containing the calldown effect) but launches for the Arm Magazine without reducing a count(which is what i want!). This causes a mismatch between the charges on the Launch ability and the Arm Magazine ability, as the charges in the Launch ability doesn't update to the exact charge count in the Arm Magazine ability, but only changes when there's a charge ADDED/REMOVED from the Arm Magazine ability...
I've attached a screenshot so you can see what's happening. The left ability is the Launch ability, while the right one is the Arm Magazine ability.
Hey guys, does anyone know how to make the Arm Magazine(Carrier) ability become a "launch magazine" ability instead of building the magazine unit when clicked like how Star Battle does it? The ability button should still show how many magazine units are left in carrier unit.
Hi there, I am looking for a Marine-type model that has a turret type torso body like a Goliath. By turret i mean that the unit with the model can still move while its torso is facing in another direction(and if possible, also perform animations in the same way). This model can be either an modified version of any of the default marine models, or a completely new one.

Err that cap is only for a single account. I think he's also referring to when you upload via multiple accounts.

@Traysent: Go
I sent you another one that is more personal
Oh, then wouldn't WAH be disqualified? If i'm not mistaken their combined file size is over 200mb+

I also sent a personal question to the Arcade e-mail that I hope you can answer. =)

Yes I could but that would involve alot of extra work, which is huge with the scale of the map that i'm making.

You clearly haven't played enough maps. :P

nono to make the Launch Ability show the charges i needed to use a Calldown effect instead of a Use Magazine(not Release) effect.

Eiviyn: Just curious, is that video demo abilities done completely through data editor or is that done with some triggers involved as well?
