IRC and Mapster are two different things. Most mods on mapster are not IRC mods and vice versa. I think Sixen and Kealten (think thats the correct spelling) are the only 2 mods on both, and Kealten never posts on mapster because he is too busy with other curse sites (He is an admin of curse iirc).
So best thing to do would be to PM Sixen about it.
Coming from RA3 modding, my opinions of modding are these:
The lowest level of modding is creating a simple melee map. It doesn't change anything about the game.
The second level is creating a map with some triggers, trying to change something. No real unit modification, a lot more of ''Unit goes here, spawn unit here''. In SC2 however, this also includes unit modification and anything we can do in the editor.
Then it's total conversion mods. Mods that completely change the game. These should be compatible with all melee maps (Even if I create a CnC mod that doesn't use minerals, I should still be able to load up Metalopolis and use the mod in it). They should be loaded up at game start and continue until you reload the game. You can also only play with people who are also using that mod.
I would personally like to see full support of TCMs from blizzard. This will allow player A to create a great RTS mod (Perhaps a CnC style one) and a single map for it. Then other people to create a map for that mod, upload it and use it. Preferably we should also be able to add in a ladder system where we can use matchmaking to find players (Shouldn't be too hard. Just use the coding for the ladder that we already have and add a seperate league for it, with a different MMR).
You can't have a single developer working on a map and make it well-made, popular and regularly updated, especially as most mappers don't know how to model and have a specific part of mapping they specialise in (Eg, ProzaicMuze is an actor guy, Mozared is a terrainer, I am a trigger guy but with enough skill to data edit competently, zenx1 is a trigger/ data guy, Mephs is a good all-round mapper).
If you are wanting to pay someone to make a massive map with custom models, I would suggest firstly seeking out a freelance modeller to pay them for the models, and getting a data editor, trigger editor and terrainer. I would also suggest against this because at this point there is no way to upload really large maps with tons of assets or a way to get a profit.
Project Pi is too early in development to say properly, but my aim is to make it a mix of DotA and DOW2. If you are interested and want more info, you can PM me.
Who are you recruiting?
Right now i'm recruiting a competent and reliable data editor. I need someone able to create heroes, abilitys and effects. You should preferably have Skype, MSN or some other messaging tool.
Who is working on it right now?
wOlfLinG - Trigger editor/ Designer
How do I apply?
Contact me via Skype, MSN or PM with a small example of a hero you have made (This is just so I won't get people who don't even know how to create a hero).
I saw some statistics somewhere that said WoW sold 250,000 pre-orders and Rift sold 350,000. And that Rift is selling more per day than WoW did this close to launch.
Edit: Could have been the US launch. ''North America (First Day) - 240,000''. EU launch was a few months later, so not sure whether to count that or not as ''Launch day sales''.
Rift has gotten off to a way better start than WoW ever did. It won't be a ''wow killer'' though. Only thing that can kill WoW atm is WoW itself. But Rift is a great game nonetheless.

You could always add it to your own map.

At the rate they have been dying, they should be :D.
Also, someone should make a game of thrones map. And just have Joffrey getting slapped over and over and over and over and over and over again.

I had a map called ''Baneling Run''. Then I changed it's name to ''So Many Banelings!'' and gave it an artosis theme :P.

If there was a karma system, you would get so many upvotes from me for that post!

Can't terrain objects or whatever they are called do this sort of thing?
