    i'm not sure why you quoted me in particular, but firstly i already have it and secondly zbrush is much better for that task!

    and where the fuck did u put 7k polys in that shoe? Oo u could cut sooo much out of it without neccessarily loosing too much detail...

    okay, as far as i see this is developing into a highpoly contest? i mean, wasnt the initial idea to make models for game use purposes? or are u going to make a lowpoly version afterwards?

    nah, i'm sry, didnt want to sound rude or anything! i just wanted to know if i understood everything the right way!

    the new outlines are really tempting, at this moment i cant tell if i'm really ion, because i have a long time project i need to get done in the next 2 weeks and yeah... we'll see!

    and royalty free means not cash free but so you can use it as you wish and redistribute and so on...

    yeah sure, thats intelligent and all, but if i do "highres" models with all that maps like bump normal whatever i wanna do renders, too :P

    okay, this didnt work, exactly the same problem as with the grass i tried...it shows the transparency in the viewport, but not when i try to render (either scanline or mental ray) That's what confused me... So it'll show up correctly ingame nonetheless?

    Whats different from these exported maps from those i would make by myself? (those's alphas show up in renders just fine)...

    i'm using the standard .dds exported from the .mpq and threw it into a sc2 bitmap slot... i havent tried exporting yet, as i am heavily working on something else at the moment, just followed this thread and was a little confused about if it work or not... (like it was in wc3... just erase a part on the .tga and then export it, voila u have something alphaed out or if we NEED to have an opacity map)

    i'm sry, might be a dumb question, what u mean exactly with "add blend mode"?

    technically it is not... if u know what u r doing, but we arent on threedy.com, gameartisans or polycount.com or whatever, where the people already work in that area... here people have to do other shit, too! (in real life i mean)

    Also i would like to know why this project is supported by sc2mapster and not any generic modeling contest...

    this is imo a BIG fail... i dunno, i'm interested in the game box, nothing else,m so i might join if i get around to scratch some time together!

    but the theme is meh... stealing an idea from another game, u guys arent creative nough to come up with an own concept?

    Last time i checked the only converter that existed was for max tand didnt support animations...

    also blender is not suitable at all at this moment, you could have linked milkshape, wings3d, gmax or any other program!

    After u have clarified the rules i might reconsider, but until then a 5000 Poly, rigged, unwrapped, animated, textured char has no room anywhere in my schedule....

    first off all, good job man, i do so suck at programming, tried maxscript myself and will in future again, but its causing headaches to me :P

    I was asked to do some grass patterns, as the requester doesnt like the foliage function... So i made him send me over all the appropriate textures (all in .dds format, directly exported from the game)

    If i apply the sc2 material and then a sc2 bitmap in each slot some wierd things happen:

    1. Then normal map doesnt have any effect. 2. The opacity isnt working (thats why i quoted you, did i get the right or wrong, i understood that only the Dark Templer (and maybe a few wothers) use an alpha mask and THIS is not yet supported... But you could understand it as that opacity isnt supported at all at the moment, because then i cant make proper grass (well, i could make an alpha mask and so on, but thats not the straightforward workflow i am searching for...
