The map is actually relatively popular at the moment on the SEA server, I just played a couple of games and here's my two cents:
Awesome map, really loved it; quite different to the standard Dota that everyone seems to want to endlessly duplicate!
The laser that one shot kills people in the enemy base drags the game out too long and is completely not fun. Get rid of it or give it a big cooldown.
Gas is very difficult to get, and very easy to lose when you die. Make it easier to get gas, make it so you don't lose so much gas on deaths or bring the cost of things that need gas down a notch or two.
Being stunned is pretty much instant death in most situations, bring down the stun time for abilities and grav bombs to about 70%.
EDIT: Just wanted to repeat that the giant laser in the base is not much fun and caused more than a few QQs.

Just completed my entry into the contest, I hope you guys like it!
You are a Dark Templar and must infiltrate your way through a highly secure space platform to reach the Warp Prism while avoiding the Ghosts! You'll stay invisible as long as you remain out of their searchlights, good luck!
The searchlights move back and forth randomly, making each round a new experience!

I can record and upload to youtube any maps that you wish to submit. I'm sure I'm not the only one offering this kind service, either.
I used to love bound maps back on the old sc1, but the popularity system sort of makes it impossible for there to be lots of bound maps high on the list (qq popularity system etc), can't wait to see what people can do with the new sc2 editor!
So our map has to be one obstacle out of a big obstacle course, not one obstacle that gets harder over time that people have to repeatedly pass?

To be honest, I'd be perfectly happy if Blizzard left the system as it is now but added in a screen which had Most Recently Created Games which would obviously have the most recently created rooms on a list and not have more than one of each type of game (to avoid them all being nexus wars or dota). The only real problem I have with the popularity system is that creating a game that's not on the first page means not a single person will join it.

A maximum size and time limit are great, but I don't think people should be forced to be in teams.
Also, some general kind of theme would be great, like "tower defense", "juggernauts", "the last of the zerglings" or "kittens"?

Yes, because: Blizzard thinks that there is nothing that can be done with the sc2 map editor that couldn't be done with the sc1 one. Blizzard thinks no better ideas have been thought up since sc1. Blizzard thinks originality means being the first to remake an old map.
Sorry for all the negativity! Big congratulations to all the winners who kicked ass and I'm sure put a ton of effort into everything they did! :D
