posted a message on [Request] Psionic Hydralisk Model & Portrait

I'm not really a modeler, to be honest, but I noticed another thread about a Psionic Zergling. He said he used a scaled down Archon effect.

Maybe if you tried to do that you could *possibly* get the effect you're looking for?

Not exactly sure if it will work for you, was just throwing it out there.

EDIT: And I didn't mean for it to be a one thing fix all type thing. I just remembered that you wanted a bunch of new models/animations. But still, a scaled Archon effect might work, at least for some of it.

posted a message on Caek RPG

Before I begin, I'd make note of something. Some of you may have noticed I've posted several ideas and never posted any progress. That is because I haven't made any. HOWEVER, I can assure you this is the first map you will see progress on.

    Caek RPG

Caek RPG for StarCraft 2 is going to be largely based off an unknown map known as Caek RPG, for StarCraft Broodwar. It is unknown because Xethyr (mapping friend) never finished it, and only test-played with friends, shortly abandoning the project. Now some of you may be thinking to yourselves, "Not much of a mapper if he didn't finish his project." I'd like to see your responses after playing it. ;)

So, shortly after he left Caek RPG (fondly referred to as Caek), I picked it up and made no progress (typical Vlaeder behavior). And suddenly, SC2 Galaxy Editor. A new realm to begin the quest for the holy caek once more. I have now retaken the project. :D

The basic storyline of Caek RPG was relatively simple and lulzworthy.

Several mercenaries (All people from Xethyr's friends list XD) were hired by Lord Xeth to liberate a Caek, because (as he puts it) he's "too weak" (Tev: No, you're just too lazy. Xeth: Stfu.). And so, after some hilarious dialog, the mercenaries are on their way together, to find Vlade (who happens to be in a cave guarded by monsters, while he was busy fapping). Using spells (controlled by hotkeying a stargate and building units to cast), they battle through hordes of respawning monsters (burrowed units given to neutral, certain units spawn at certain burrowed units at location Anywhere, likely won't be necessary in SC2) to reach the cave. After some more hilarious lulz-inducing dialog, Vlade begins making his way back to Fort Zethyrious with information about the Caek, guarded by the mercs. They reach the fort, Vlade talks about BloodiedSpirit (another friend, also a boss) who is guarding the Caek with over 9000 shields (15k to be exact). The mercs are on their way again and defeat BloodiedSpirit.

And that's where Xethyr stopped. After defeating Bloodied Spirit, there were no more triggers to progress the storyline, but he did tell me (and really only me) where the RPG was going to go. And so I am making it for SC2.

Assuming you're still here after all that boring narrative...

Each player will be able to select a mercenary to play as, each will have a different set of spells, gained at different levels. Each boss will have a smaller set of spells, but more powerful. You will be able to see the HP and MP of each party member on your HUD, and even use HP/MP potions on them. You will also be able to send certain items to other party members.

And if none of that made you even slightly excited for this project, I am going to say now that it will retain all the humor from the original Caek, including but not limited to: -Internet memes -Jokes about people fapping in caves -People fapping in caves -Monsters watching people fap in caves -Random lulzworthy taunts -More internet memes -A Roflcopter -A LMAOsword -An army of Jews (No hard feelings intended, twas part of the original Caek.) -And more random that I will proceed to make up on the dot

Caek RPG ::: Project Start Date ::: 5-19-10, 2:30 P.M. Pacific NorthWest (Several hours before I won an SC2 Beta Key.) Project Finish Date ::: ??-??-??, ??:?? ?.?. Pacific NorthWest (Sometime before I died.)

    Updates ::: -=NONE=-

posted a message on *sigh* My life sucks.

Tell ya what, Aegis. If I somehow come across a decent sum of money, I'll hire ya to make me a websites, mmkay?

That won't happen for at least a few months though, because I have no job and haven't finished my book(s) to publish them.

    Quote from AegisRunestone: Go

I thought of this when I saw the Uberlisk video. :P

I think Smash Bros. with Heros/normal units would be fun. Zeratul vs. Raynor anyone? :P

Anyway, I fully support this, and would love to help with the project if created.

Haven't started working on it yet, mainly due to working on another classified project, but I will get to it soon.

I don't think I'll be able to do heroes vs heroes like Zeratul and Raynor until Blizzard releases the full game, unless I want to do serious guesswork (which may end up screwing it up). That is unless, of course, you all know where the hero characters are in the editor. I know I haven't been able to find them...

posted a message on Super SmashCraft

I'm sure many of you have played the famous beat'em up from Nintendo, known as Super Smash Bros. This project idea is based on that.

-=Planned Features=- You will be able to select from a variety of units to play with on a classic side-view arena with floating platforms and the like. All the players will be able to vote on an arena to play in and a game mode. (Game Modes: Classic, Stamina, Story[?]) You will move and attack with mostly the keyboard, possibly the mouse. Each unit will have its own "Final Smash", or something similar with a different name. Each unit will also have a variety of normal attacks to use. The goal is to damage your opponent enough to throw them off the arena, OR (In Stamina Mode) beat them down to 0 Stamina.

I just came up with this on the spot, so there are still several things that are likely to come.

Good idea. I just remembered how badly I'd screw up if I copied one.

Gonna edit my post now. XD

posted a message on Legend of Zelda StarCraft 2

I've decided to create a new Legend of Zelda storyline on SC2. I haven't started yet (will in a few minutes) but I was just 'staking my claim', so to speak.

I'll update my progress here every couple days.

posted a message on Laboratory/Facility Terrain?

    Hey guys.

I've been thinking of making a puzzle/horror/shooter RPG, but I am not sure about what terrain set would be best for an indoor facility.

Could anyone give me a suggestion for which tileset I should use? I was considering Tarsonis, but I'm not quite sure if that would work out.

Also, is there a way to make it so that the facility actually appears to be inside, with a ceiling and such?

Oh, thanks Sixen. I'm still learning the terms for certain things in the editor, so I must've followed the directions wrong. >.<

    Sadface.

I cannot, for the life of me, find Unit Icon anywhere in the right hand side after selecting a unit. I've looked for it on several units, and can't find Unit Icon.

Modules > Data > Units > Marine/Zealot/Zergling/etc > Data Editing area on the right

No Unit Icon at all v.v

    I feel slightly retarded.

Doesn't preorder take a few days after the release? Or is it sent out as the SC2 copies are being shipped around the world?

posted a message on Where will SC2 be released in Washington (STATE)

SC2 is coming out in a few months, and so I was wondering where in Washington State it will be released. I know it'll be in just about every store in the state within a day of the release, but I want to be there the moment its out on the shelves, I plan on being the first person in my region to sign into Bnet on the official release day.

So, does anyone know where in Washington it'll be released?
