He is not the original creator.

Then who is? The guy (Nick) mentions himself as having created the original map:

This is the original that has caught on in Starcraft spawning many imitations including some on Warcraft III.

You can get 3 different iterations of the same Aeon of Strife concept map from the original creator's website: http://www.angelfire.com/sc3/blizzard2. As far as map dating goes, it precedes the release of WarCraft 3: Reign of Chaos, so it's plenty obvious that the genre most certainly did not start in WarCraft 3 map maker community.

posted a message on What Music do you guys all like =P

Most of my music preferences are centered around Industrial genre and it's subgenres. And I often find it hard to dodge myself into new acts, even if they sort-of stand close to my "default" likings sound-structure-wise.

    Psychic TV -

    Throbbing Gristle -

    V0id -

    Nitzer Ebb -

    Coil -

And then we roll on to even more: And One, Converter, Front 242, Spetsnaz, SPK, Boyd Rice, SOIL&PIMP Sessions, Xotox, Dioxyde, Vomito Negro, Audren, almighty OPP, Gregory and the Hawk, Slowdive, VNV Nation, This Morn'Omina, Mlada Fronta, Luigi Russolo...

Really nice work mono. That looks awesome! I guess I could try doing a video later tonight unless someone else gets it done first. But I have no idea what kind of computer is required for recording. :p

my rig cpu AMD Phenom x4 955 BE mem 8gb gpu nvidia gtx 285

You rig is surely over-the-top even for such recording to be made. I would suggest setting SC2.exe Affinity to Core0 while leaving the recording software to use Core1, Core2 and Core3, for maximum stability. StarCraft 2 should handle itself well with only one core active for him as this map isn't CPU-intensive. Just be sure to revert changes after you finish recording.

With Galaxy Editor coming out, I've taken on to continue what interested me the most in World Editor - terrain design. I must add, that terrain construction is much more simplified and user-friendly now, adds a lot more variability and easiness of use that is featured in such context, that even the new-comers should not find any of their ideas impossible to come alive. For the same reason, sculpting with Galaxy Editor is so much more open to various ideas than previous Blizzard Editor software has allowed.

So my idea was - to turn a non-living rock, which sits in the middle of lava pond into a grotesque offspring of underground seismic activities that not only bring more magma from the deeps, but also catch some of the Vespene Gasses that Terrans might use. You can well see pumps, vents and support columns. Of course, pulsing lava had to maintained, so a few "extra" openings were done at the back of the rock.

I especially concentrated on maintaining a proper Lightning level that would suit the environment, so extensive editing was done at that front.

Here's download link: Link Removed: http://www.mediafire.com/?n43dwo4eii2 (rename to .sc2ma to use in Galaxy Editor, or simply load the downloaded file with LazyLauncher). The cinematic lasts about 1 minute. Screenshots:

    [HELP WANTED] (Not anymore)

It looks like my two-core processor can actually handle FRAPs by itself, so I've rendered it on my own. Yet still thanks for the helping-hand of HP-X|Arthas.
