So, what video games do you like other than Starcraft?
I'm a big fan of Team Fortress 2, and Dwarf Fortress mostly, but I also occasionally play City of Heroes. When I have friends over, we play Total Annihilation or Age of Empires 3.
If you truly have the patience to make tons and tons of unit combinations, go for it! You will be heralded as epic, and all Builders and Fighters maps on SC2 will be modeled after yours. This is a good time to make SC2 maps.
Also, if you need ideas, I might be able to come up with some...
(BTW, Queen+Mutalisk+Ultralisk should be melee air attacker with tons of health that can also chain heal allies, just saying)
Actually, a full out tutorial on how to MAKE an Uberlisk would be great. Why? Because creating an Uberlisk combines many parts of data editing. Actors, abilities, weapons modifying, and so forth.
I ended up giving my guy a weapon slightly differently.
I wanted to give a miniature ultralisk a custom attack based off a Zergling attack, but still preform the animation.
When I tested in game, he would attack, but there was no animation. To fix this (after a lot of dead ends), I found you could make them preform the animation using the Events in the Actor. I found out that he wasn't attacking because his attack animations all reffered to the weapon that he no longer had.
I just changed which weapon it had to check for, and it worked.
I'm trying to duplicate a zergling so that I can have 2 types in one map (one normal, one huge). I want to only duplicate what I have to duplicate (so I'm not duplicating their models, attack/move/stop etc, or sounds), but the original keeps being renamed to Zergling Copy (even though I already renamed Zergling Copy to Uberzergling), that has various "green" resources, and such. It's a little confusing.
EDIT: Actually, you know what? Ignore this. As usual, I find the answer out soon after asking the question. >.>
In the weapon's section, change
"(none)- Allowed Movement" to move.
Also, go to
"(none)- Options" and uncheck Only fire at target and Only fire while attacking
Also, though I haven't tested it, I think that if you uncheck "Linked Cooldown" you can have them use other attacks while using this one (like the uberlisk can use his melee attacks while firing his spine crawlers)
Also, if you want him to only use his melee attacks at close quarters (he'll use his spine crawlers on other enemies, though), add a minimum range value to the weapon.
I was never a bound fanatic in Starcraft 1, or a maze fan in Warcraft 3. However, due to better triggers, we could have more gameplay. Arrow key control and such. You know?
That said, if someone made one, I would definitely play a SC2 bound. But we're talking an engine that can create FPSs and Space Side scrollers here, I think we can be even more creative. It's like a guy who finds a genie and his first wish was for a sandwich.
It's probably because it's a huge animated gif. It took my original noob chicken avatar and animated so it peeked out a little, then ran across the image.
Pretty much all I found out so far is that you can make Ubermutalisks.
To do so, select the Mutalisk, go to effects, and choose Mutalisk - Glaive wurm bounce 1 (set). Go to Effects-Effects (reduntantly redundant, no?) and change Mutalisk Glaive Wurm bounce 2 (search) to Mutalisk Glaive Wurm bounce 1 (search). Also, change the damage in Glaive Wurm bounce 1 (damage) to 9000 or something.
Then, place a single mutie in the editor with a long chain of marines. Note that if the projectile goes out of fog of war, it disappears. Game mode potential here?

Someone should actually make cat and mice models for this.

I would be more interested in a mod to get the WC3 races into the game to fight against, or along side, the starcraft races.

I want a unit, whenever it's created, to set it's name to a string which can be changed.

I have most of it done too, but I'm not sure how to get the Spine Crawler model attached properly.

I'm still a little iffy on the whole thing myself. If I experimented a bit more, I could probably make a nice, detailed tutorial.

In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a larva morph into a marine.
First thing you do, go to data editor, choose buttons, and duplicate a morph into zergling. Change the icon and text into what you want.
Then, go to abilities, and find Larva- Morph Unit, and change info
Select a blank one, and change the following to what you need them to be. You can even set the required building here. I set it to spawning pool.
Finally, go to Larva, and Command card
Select any empty slot, and find the button you made at the beginning.
Finally, to finish it off, fill in the following, including the morph you just made.

I wonder why it won't work...
