Not explicitly yours, but I think this interface: http://gamescry.com/starcraft/NewArcadeHome.jpg is an EPIC FAIL. This isn't the Android Market, where you have to browse everything in a small window. The default window is fine as it is now: redirect to popular games.
In truth, the only thing the current system needs is an "lobbies in need of players" section. That's all.
Your works looks awesome as always. A pity it needs Facebook (hate it, duh). Any plans to make a non-Facebook version? (requiring registration if necessary)
I could help with a Spanish translation. I don't promise anything (bit busy currently), but I could help a bit.
I've been asking for a goddamn "open games list" since the first days of beta.
Thanks god.
Still, I'm not sure if it's too late. Blizzard did well to release this before HotS and the Marketplace (or Arcade or whatever it's named now) so the community starts to recover from their retarded and stupid decisions. But I'm not sure if most of the people that left have any chance of returning.
Let's hope the W3 custom map scene comes back in all its glory.
To everyone but specially to the Brazilian players out there, I just
want to say the translated version of SC2 sucks. Burn (literally) your
Brazilian SC2 DVD and buy the American version. Those translated names
and voices are horrible, with too many bad decisions for translation and
terrible voice acting.
I've been playing SC since the original, and I still have the Brazilian
manual for both SC1 and Brood War. Those names were ok, some of them
were already bad, but the translation team for SC2 never put their hands
on those manuals. I bought and play the American version, but I bought
the Brazilian version for my cousin because he loves SC and his English
sucks, and even though his English sucks he says those unit names suck
and voice acting sucks.
So as I'm a Brazilian map maker I thought I'd include in my maps my
native language as an option to players. But I opened the editor,
checked the units' names and I simply gave up the idea, I can't do it.
I can only wonder how bad are the other versions and if people feel bad
playing translated versions, I hope thei situation is different. That's
it, a little rant and I'm done with it.
The reaper got translated as "Yum-Kimil", and the baneling as "Uetzi". Don't ask me, I have no idea wtf that means, and no one from SA I know does, either.
EU Spanish isn't as worse, thanks god. It has mistakes, but I call everything by their English names so I don't care anymore.
Anyway; I'm not completely sure where your question is in all this, but if you want to control pathing for air units, you're going to have to place (a payload of) anti-air zones. Unless it's possible for your map to create a simple region that teleports any entering flight unit to another region (this looks crude and ugly, but it's an easy option for some maps), this is your best bet I think.
Yeah... I'm annoyed we got a path tool that lets you draw anti-building and anti-land, but doesn't let you draw anti-air, or common sense, doesn't let you make new styles and define their collision using the fields from the data editor. It annoys me to no end.
The solution I like the most is giving some doodads anti air path, but I'm not sure if that would even work. I'm going to place doodads in each "planet"s border anyway, so it could save me a lot of work. I hate placing those footprints because you can't see the space they take from the editor, and they could require various annoying testings.
Regions aren't an option, just look at the map layout: http://imgur.com/a/U5qT2#3 (red should be permanent anti-air, yellow destructible anti air).
Got a new PC, able to run SC2 at highest graphics with no problems at all, so now I can work with the editor with all its power. Guess I should check the potential it has for terraining (one of my favorite parts of making maps). So yeah, I'm "back" to posting (never left reading), until I get angry with this game again, lol.
I'm working on this project: http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/koprulu-sector/ and some pathing advices would be nice. Basically, I want to make anti air doodads, and I know how to, but I want to know what's the most effective way. Since Blizzard doesn't seem to like to update the editor, the terrain-path brush tool will be terrible for some long time.
Ideas I have:
Use the foot decal thing, annoying because I'll need thousands of those and I can't effectively check how much space they take without testing.
Check paths of doodads. I think anti-air is white or green, I'm not sure. I would need to make a new .tga or whatever extension the game uses and import it, going with the old W3 model of collision boxes.
And maybe more ways I don't know of.
Tips on terraining are welcomed, too. The anti-air zones go around the planet's borders, where I plan to put small walls of rocks that merge with the cliffs and hide them, but I'm not sure if it's the best way to go.
You could have put a vote, I'm all for yes. However as disappointing as it sounds, suggesting such a thing on the 14th is probably too late for Curse to even consider it properly.
Somehow I couldn't, it didn't work properly.
If there's any way to edit and add one, just tell me how to or do it yourself, please.
I don't really see how shutting down something helps against SOPA. Is it meant to piss off the gamers out there?
Pretty much what I'm replying everywhere:
There's a lot of people that doesn't know about this anti-freedom bill.
This is a fast way to make them notice: show them the consequences of its approval before it happens, so they fight it and it doesn't get to happen for real.

Anyway, beat the first 26, the last 4 are hard as hell :S. Only played 2 hours, though, might need to play more :).

SA Spanish is pretty awful, too.
I mean, look at the names: http://us.battle.net/sc2/es/game/unit/

Being evil is pretty easy.
Just spam everywhere how cool, nice and balanced the popularity system is.
I can't guarantee your safety after that, though. I would want to hit you myself for daring to say such an heretic atrocity.

The new interface they showed at BlizzCon is just horrible. The less maps in screen the worse.
Also, Fun or Not should be named "Now playing" and show lobbies of public games without full house for more than 1 minute.

If you didn't play it long ago, check your history, your recent played maps or your replays to find it ;).
If you haven't played it yourself, then I'm sorry I don't know what map that is :(.

Can't you contact Curse about this? I'm not a mod or an admin, so I don't have the same access you guys have.

Easy as that.
