Well, Blizz clearly knows something I don't.

It's just not right though. So Jay loses interest in the uninteresting game he developed, and everyone else has to clean up the mess. Years of their professional lives that they'll never get back.

All I can say is this new game better be a home run, or else... my diatribe about its legendary suckitude will be twice as big. You don't want that, Jay. You're on notice...

It's just ridiculous that Sanctuary seems to be run by a bunch of incompetents. "Oh your PRECIOUS LAWS" bemoans Tyrael, like c'mon. It's freaking heaven. Are the laws not divinely inspired? Or is the place supposed to be some kind of half-baked democracy? Maybe it's an analogy for D3's dev process.

If he weren't a self-proclaimed griefer I might have hesitated to call him a worthless fat fuck.

Hardcore and rerolling is pointless because of the static leveling, a game mechanic that is objectively bad. Seriously, there's avante garde game design and there's stupidity on a profound level.

Don't get me started with the delayed PvP. So much for that special awkward newb phase that is the innocent, golden era of every online PvP experience. Now straight out of the gate, everyone is going to be double-triple-quadruple decked with the most obscene gear Real Money can buy. What a wash.

Then again, who can argue with 10+ million? I can. D2's former glory, and a bunch of WoW nerds desperately looking for some variety, is what sold D3. I wonder, do internal analysts see D3 as a definitive success? Because there's one thing money can't buy: brand recognition.

All the fanbois bitched me out when I said the game had no lasting appeal. Now those mouth-breathers are long gone to the newest Call of Booby with zero memory in their Ritalin-soaked brains of what a Diablo was, while I'm still here. I'm a legit fan that stills care about Diablo (even though Blizzard North got shit-canned, the spirit of the game endures with the fans). I might even get the expansion because I now have the proper expectation that I'm barely getting my money's worth once and not ten times over like previous games.

posted a message on Your favorite custom singleplayer map?

It's bittersweet that some of what Blizzard promised about the editor is only practical in single player.

I like single player, but only in the context of multiplayer. Meaning, it's frustrating that many of these popular maps don't even function properly when you load them in single player (supposing you feel like exploring the finer details). It's like, have both assholes, or else it feels like I care more about the map than the author. Where is the pride?

I just don't like controlling masses of units every which way. It consumes all of my mental energy, I suck at it and I don't like it.

Well, this is a site for developers. Who is still developing? That is how dead it is.

I like to think that we're all too busy crafting our masterpieces to bother posting about them.

The discerning eye may say the photorealism clashes with SC2's touch of "fantasy" look...but if it's even an issue I call that a "good problem"

The design itself is cool. You can tell the thing was built for speed.

Its as logical for me as the existence of the universe.

You ought to give it some serious thought because neither life nor the universe are givens.

The only reason for that, if Spock was the captain, than the show would have been boring.

Did you ever stop to think why it would be boring? Why Star Wars without the Force would be boring?

Life existing isn't logical, but it exists anyway. They don't say truth is stranger than fiction for nothing.

Gradius hit the nail on the head.

EDIT: There's a reason that Spock wasn't the captain.

I've put innumerable theories through their paces over the years from human beings being Satan's fallen angels spoken of in Revelation, to the human body being an unrecognizably advanced biotechnology, to the universe itself existing inside someone's imagination. I don't hold any singular theory as a definitive stance; I am undecided. Actually, I'm finding that the more time passes, the less importance I place on the topic. For me, the acquisition of knowledge for my own cognitive satisfaction is finally taking a backseat to virtue and personal worth. Real, tangible results; the bearing of fruit, if you will.

I gotta stop focusing on petty arguments that mean nothing.

All I know conclusively is that there is a devil-worshipping oligarchy that aspires to control the world, who call themselves the "Enlightened Ones" and are hoarding the world's knowledge.

Of course this is all well outside the bounds of the thread, but you definitely forced my hand with this one.

We need some kind of breakthrough, be it the discovery of ancient records from that time (if they exist) or a way to manipulate or traverse space-time to see for ourselves. Until such a thing occurs, it behooves us to withhold our presumptions of our origins, and to not owe our (comparatively) staggeringly mind-blowing level of intelligence and proclivity towards artistic pursuits to "chance" just because it sounds good on paper.

As it stands, no it isn't stupid to investigate millions of years ago, it's only stupid to draw conclusions.

Mind you, my numbers of 10,000 BC are ballpark. I'm just making a point.
