I have a done version of vampirism. And remaking that terrain (by just copying, moving, and raising some cliffs) is EASY. And not time consuming. There is no problem in the editor, all tiles are normal size. Cliffs are using a 1x1 square of terrain, while your trees footprint take 2x2. That's in the sc2 ver, in wc3 ver - everything 1x1. See the problem? It's not the editor, it's just your planning. And that's why I suggest you to redo your terrain.

Are you suggesting I do 1x1 trees? Do you know how many I currently have in my map? 1600. Imagine how many I'd have with 1 per cell. And my map is not done, I've only terrained maybe 3 of the sides of the map, nvm the center. I get your point about the terrain being remade cause SC does terrain differently, but I'm not sure making the trees 1x1 is going to solve it, cause in the end it's probably going to end up causing A LOT more problems then it fixes.

I see there a problem of design, not the editor. You just wrongly done the terrain. That problem of yours is simply avoidable. Just remake the hills (scale smth up, or down).

Recreate the terrain try it yourself. This isn't the only place this happens in my map, and I'm not going to change the terrain completely to cater to this problem. I'm doing a remake of a WC3 map. I just would love to figure out a fix for it.

I want to know if it's possible to recreate this in the galaxy editor and how, and if someone could manage to do it I'd give them mad props.

I'm already using all three levels. And no, I cant, not in this particular part.

wait... what you would to change? cliff pathing? I'm not totally sure, but it is probably possible in data editor. Editor modification isn't easy thing though. And i can't imagine how to do that.

I'm pretty sure you can't actually do it directly in the editor cause unless you can edit the size of the cliff somewhere you cant do this.

Would this be possible and could someone attempt it if it is feasible? All I'm requesting is that cliffs be made even all the time, like they we're in WC3. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about:

Also, would it actually crash the game, and could you still upload the map to battle.net without issue? I'm thinking it probably wouldn't, but I'm not 100% on how SC2 handles this in-game.

Were they not going to make some fruit based zerg models to honour the one tournament winner? What ever happened to those? Also did they ever release the rainbow archon demo map?

Samwise did some concept art for the fruit based Zerg due to Fruitdealer winning the GSL because he was kind of a pioneer at the time, no Zerg had yet to win the GSL at that point IIRC. And he was really happy that a Zerg won. I don't think they ever had the intention of creating actual models. And the Rainbow Archon demo wasn't ever released as far as I know.

I'm kinda jealous, I heard IT was the ezmode CS. I want to switch.

IT at my school was just showing people how to use different programs like Word, Excel, Flash, Photoshop and things to do with HTML.

Hate to ask but have you pirated SC2 in some way? Cause if so, that's the problem, and I'm kind of getting that vibe from ur post.

Is anyone else having problems with pathing in 1.4? It seems to not save my footprint data when I save the map, allowing units to blink through and in trees, and walk up/down cliffs. Can't figure out why.

Why would you want to name your games? please explain, I find it ridiculous and redundant, considering you can invite people by yourself.

Because it brings an otherwise lifeless battle.net some human interaction in which it desperately needs. And it is extremely boring searching through the list of games.

Hey guys, I can see this coming, so please don't turn this into a "popularity system" feud thread. There are some interesting details here that can be discussed, but please, please, please don't go back to the pop system complaints...

It's a valid complaint. As mappers we have the right to be annoyed by it.

I've been saying it from beta but what they need most is the ability to see games are ACTIVE. Most people don't go past page three, however if they see a game from page 5 that is actually being played, they'd be more inclined to join it. That happened alot on WC3, especially when the dota spam hit. You almost never saw most of the good maps but if you actually hosted one, you almost always got a full house.

People want to play the maps farther down the list, but that's the key here. They want to PLAY those maps, not sit alone in an empty lobby. Seeing how many hours has been played doesn't tell us if it's being played NOW. And that's what blizzard really needs to bloody add already. Let us sort by games that are being hosted at this very minute, so we know what people are playing and can finally get some goddamned diversity in here instead of the same dozen maps endlessly.

No they just need to give us the WC3 custom game search feature back and it will fix 99% of our problems. This includes naming our god damn games.

I could try finding it in the mpqs. I didn't know it was that hard to come across lol..

    Edit: Link Removed: http://www.mediafire.com/?80il8imroi0o2vw .

I found a whole folder full of models for the Lordaeron tree, but since I have no way of checking which tree is which, I just included them all. If you could, some previews of each model would be nice, so I can see which one I'd like converted. Also, I found some textures for the lordaeron trees, thought I'd include them too.

I don't know how can one look at the 3 cliff level limitation and not say it's ridicuolus. It seems that they imposed that limitation on themselves at the beginning. I have no idea what purpose it serves from the mapmaker's standpoint. It's not that having more than 3 cliff levels is bad for the gameplay or something.

Do you really believe that it's engines limitation? Having another level of terrain is too much for the engine to handle. Come on...

It's not too much to handle, but in doing so unless Blizzard modifies the way terrain works in all of SC2, it's going to a) crash it or b) cause other unwanted errors. And for them to fix it would require significant re-coding of the game in order to support more cliff levels.

I'm currently trying to port terrain from WC3 to SC2 just by using screenshots as reference, and it doesn't seem to work out. I cant view the map in question in World Edit cause it's locked, either. A simple WC3 to SC2 terrain converter would be amazing.
