Nice work with the models, although the concept does need to be a bit more fleshed-out.

June 11th seems plausible... I hope the game gets released around then (although in May would be nice :) ).

I'm sure the map editor will be coming soon, although only those with beta keys will be able to use it from what I understand. :(

I haven't heard of anything really remarkable with Blender.

Here's that might change you mind (or not).

I think that part of the reason major companies do not use Blender is simply because it has had less exposure than 3ds Max. As for performance, the new 2.50 overhaul of Blender, once it's complete, should bring the program much closer to 3ds Max in terms of speed. Regardless, both programs are useless without artistic skill anyways...

@begebies: Blender uses python and I have written my own custom importer/exporter scripts before. But I would need to learn more about about animation sequences to be able to write one for the SC2 engine.

I would be overjoyed if you could manage to write import and export plugins for Blender! :D I don't have enough experience with Python to do it myself, so I'll be watching your progress with anticipation.

Max has a competent or what could be called the "most user-friendly" UI (If 3d programs can actually be user friendly), whereas Blender is... "different", I say different because, for me, at least, it was hard to learn how to use blender coming up from 3ds max. The fact that the functions were sometimes not available and that you had to switch in between "modes" (if I remember correctly) was very annoying.

That's just the UI, the capabilities of 3ds max extend to waaaay a lot more than blender.

What features does 3ds max have that Blender doesn't have? I've always thought that Blender is close to being on par with 3ds max in terms of features (but not performance).

Very well done! I also do 3d modeling and 2d art, and to say the least, I'm very jealous impressed. As a side note, have you ever used Blender before? If so, how does it compare to 3ds Max, (which I've never used)?

    Hey,

Sorry to bother you guys, but do you plan to offer an application for conversion between .m3 and .3ds formats? I'm asking because I use Blender, not 3ds Max, to model, which can import and export .3ds. I can always use 3ds Max as a go-between, but I thought I would inquire anyways.

    Thanks :)

Some guy just posted this picture of the alleged inventory system on the StarCraft 2 official boards (Renee.islga):

Can you guys confirm whether or not it's a fake? He claimed the character sheet is converted from a bag, by the way.

If that's authentic, then its pretty sweet!
