Also, I just saw the price has dropped $20, is it worth it now? I am just downloading the update and one click away from buying it just because of the price drop xD

    Ha, thanks.

I also have no idea what you people are talking about, so I will definitely have to play it again. Would I do good in making a new character or actually start playing with the ones I have?

...or whatever the name for the expansion is...

So, who's getting it? Is it even worth a shot?

I am merely asking to see if I would be able to play with any of you if I do get it. I usually just get them for the story and cinematics :P D3 was absolutely not replayable. So yeah...

I do not wish this topic to end up in a debate or fight, just a question if anyone is getting it and why?

As I said in the other thread: all mods can edit it, but most of us are reluctant to do so because screwing up just one symbol in the code messes up the entire frontpage.

    We can?

    @Hookah604: Go

Yeah, That'd be my guess, that I have not really read "good" sci-fi but mainly it's because I just don't find a reason to, even when I know which ones are good sci-fi.

By science-intense I meant actual real science books :P I probably did not use the proper term, but for example books I enjoy reading are works by scientist. I enjoyed newton's Principia Mathematica, Opticks, Eintein's special relativity up to hawking's books. They're quite enjoyable to me. I mainly like physics books, but I also like reading from topics that I am not comfortable with, because I know nothing on them, so I read about them. To me that's the point of reading :P But for example, I am currently reading the insanely long version of "on the origin of species" by charles darwin because I realised that even when everyone knows he created the theory of evolution almost nobody has actually read his writings, I sure know nobody that has, but maybe that's just not something people read in El Salvador.

Then there's architectural books. Which I hate. Being an architect myself I hate them all. to me there's two kinds of architectural books, ones with nothing but pictures and blueprints and some description of the works presented and then there's "books with letters" which I hate. Because most of those books are "theories of urbanism" or "theories of public space" or some other topic on architecture, but being an architect myself I almost always have something contradicting said writings, because pretty much always it's an author's opinion and well, I'm a very conflictive person :P I always have something against other people's theories and end up getting mad and saying "why the hell am I reading this crap"

    But yeah.

    Fringe. Epic. Period.

I knew from the beggining Fringe was just something else but I was entirely conviced it was THE series when sentences like "I do not remember, because this conversation has not yet happened to me" and you consider them to be completely normal even when they just don't make sense at all.

    THAT said,

I like mostly sci-fi games, but yeah, like someone said, it just happens that the games I like are sci-fi, them being Starcraft, Star wars games in general, and mainly things that have spaceships inside them :P

Next is completely weird, because I hate sci-fi books. I just find it's pointless to read something that will not contribute to your actual real knowledge, for books I like mostly science-intense books, and I rarely enjoy reading novels because a lot of the novels are just made up crap. even when they fall in a real world.

And this is compeltely weird because my favourite movie genre is sci-fi, I love that I am able to visualise different world in them. I like almost everything with ships on them (again) or movies that have post-apocalyptic societies or dystopian societies, mainly because I love visualising the writer's or director's mind on how a society would work in certain X conditions. I like the hunger games, I liked that crappy justin timberlake movie about time being currency because of that, and many more like this.

For once I agree with TaintedWisp here. Talking about your map situation and expressing your own thoughts about what this represents to you and your project is okay. Insulting each other or someone else either directly or indirectly is not.

Now, Please Dont derail this thread any further, Otherwise I can predict the future for you right now, A mod will come in here in about 4-5 post and shut this thread down....

naaaaw, we've given up on closing topics, we're now in favor of letting them all become flamewars and straight up banning people, pretty cool, right?

posted a message on Diablo 3 Expansion Reveal

    Two things:

As a game I considered Diablo to be quite pleasant. I never really played D2 or D1, so I knew basically nothing about Diablo when I got to D3. The story line, while it was predictable, it was fun, it was nice to play through, the visual style was not convincing for some, but it sure made some pretty scenarios while playing the storyline that FITTED. Though, I was a little disappointed of the sewers in D3 since I remeber them from D2 to be a complete maze where I died multiple times.

For a casual gamer like me this game was fun, had a decent storyline, I can only play so few hours a day so it gave me almosta month of fun, then a little bit more when I got a little bit into getting itemsand figuring out the auction house. All I am saying is that it was fun.

    ONCE.

I recently installed it again only to realise it was basically pointless. There are no "goals" in a game like this, you never finish playing it per se, and the only thing that item hunts or having the best equipment and better build and msot levels are worth for is not even there :/
So I got bored after around 7 days of replaying it (Did not even get past azmodan) and even in a different class it was just not worth it for me to feel like I was going nowhere and achieve nothing.

That said, I think that as a game it was whatever you could expect from any other title. Except with INCREDIBLE cinematics and a not too retarded storyline and playthrough.

Second thing I can say is that HoTS is pretty much even more messed up than Diablo. If it was just, like Diablo, a single playthrough of the same thing it would be DEAD. Which is why multiplayer and arcade have done a decent job and add great replayability to the game since no match is ever the same. But seriously if you just looked at hots as a single player game it'd suck more than D3. The storyline was poor and weak and LEAKED so you already knew what was going to happen, and even if you did not see the leaked video you pretty much could have guessed what was going to happen right after mission 2. Cinematics are replaced by in game cinematics and only a tad few are actual real rendered cinematics. Which are impressive in someway but not THAT impressive. But overall I do consider hots to be an improvement over wol, it had a far superior mission design, the missions in hots were just really fun to complete.

Both games have their mistakes and both have their greatness, but they're both games, decent and entertain to some point.

That said, I'd probably get the D3 expansion just for the storyline and play through it once, but the price has to be right, not $40, definitely not $60.
And that said, I'd probably get LotV but not as much for its campaign but for the multiplayer and strategies.

So many people buy Civ 5 Gold. I did like a year ago at the same price as of today and have just played the game twice. And one of those I did not even finish the game D:

    Can we play? :D

I don't have brave new world, though, I'd wish to actually learn to play before buying more or it'll just go to waste :P

Very similar? It was exactly the same! the whole time, right from the beggining I was wtfing the whole time. I was actually expecting him to transform into something else when his HP hitted 40%...

I gotta be honest, I was kinda disappointed when it didn't :P
