    @Mozared: Go

    And this is why I feel it is pointless to argue religion with a religious person.

    Doesn't matter if they run out of arguments, they'll just resort to But maybe or It's that way because the bible says so arguments.

    EternalWraith:

    He would, He would. Its a trap to assume God is waiting for the slightest opportunity to cast us into a `hell` or torment us.

    In what way is it a trap? God hasn't done the slightest shit to even make me remotely believe in him, so I could just take it as he doesn't like me, I mean, it makes absolutely no sense for him to stay disguised, if he is so caring about us, why doesn't he just save us all?

    Look at dis

    Such an attitude leads to despair and should not be entertained.

    What attitude? That I don't believe there's an invisible man up in the sky waiting for me in a majestic kingdom?

    Again, he hasn't done anything to make himself seem real, and 'such attitude' hasn't lead me into despair, but rather I feel happy when looking at christians/muslims (..etc) who instead waste their time protesting about gay/lesbian marriage. Wasn't God a loving and forgiving person? Well, why doesn't he ''allow'' gays to marry, and more importantly why does he accept such behavior?

    ll it takes is the slightest attitude of repentance and change of heart for a person to save him/herself. I dont think anyone is going to get intentionally screwed at the end of their lives. Every person bears some responsibility for their actions and inner most decisions.

    Well, obviously, he gave us free will, but then again he's the almighty God who's supposed to have his finger in everything, or isn't he as powerful as you say?

    We have our conscious that acts as one means of warning , then we have knowledge, and all sorts of persuasive and true forces that can lead us on the right track. Who better to judge that , than God?.

    I don't know, Santa seems pretty good at predicting when children have been bad.

    No, but seriously, I still don't see the logic in this.. He's the almighty God with unlimited power and he wants to save us, yet he doesn't spend any energy at all to appear to us as our God.

    But instead he just sits quietly, looks down on us and takes bets on who's gonna die and get to heaven first.

    The whispers that tell us God is evil, cruel, and is wanting to kill/destroy and damn us. Where do they come from?

    Isn't the bible 'God's word'? Well, it's estimated he killed about 2.5 million people, he tells you to rape the virgin daugthers of your enemy and enslave people, you can apparently sell your daughter as a (sex?) slave and you should kill people that works on the sabbath? I sense hypocrisy, unless the Devil wrote the bible, which is funny because then you're obeying the Devil's words.

    If you're supposed to heed God's word, why doesn't anyone kill the gays instead of just protesting in the streets?

    We`re not talking `Dungeons and Dragons` definition of Sorceress here(Throwing fireballs?)... Occult practices, witchcraft, fortune telling, etc. No different than modern day occult. Not that I believe they have any power in their efforts, but they obviously are deluded in thinking so.

    Wait... Waaaaaiiiit... ??? Really?

    You say they're deluded because they believe in witchcraft and fortune telling, yet you're sitting here expressing there's a magical mr.nice guy up in the sky?

    The human body is extremely resilient and has many fail-safes.

    Isn't evolution wonderful? <3

    But you would still try 'save' your child wouldn't you?

    Whereas God would just send him/her straight to hell instead of helping a (in your eyes) delusioned person/child back to the 'warmth and loving God'? I mean, wouldn't he even try to save him/her from the grip of satan or whatever?

    You know, it makes it sound like you have better moral standards, simply a more loving person than God himself.

    Well, let's say that you have a son/daughter (or maybe you already have I don't know) and (s)he one day comes home and says (s)he doesn't believe in God anymore, what would you do then? If (s)he's strongly disagreeing with you about that God exists (basically becomming an atheist).

    Would you throw her/him out of your house and let your neighboor torture her and then just forget about her/him? Would you try to save your child by trying to discuss the matter?

    In short, what actions would you take if your child became an atheist (or something similar that defies God)?

    Tell people there's an invisible man in the sky who created the universe, and the vast majority of people will believe you

    Tell them the paint is wet, and they have to touch it to be sure - George Carlin

    Then I have to ask you another question; If you break one of the 10 commandments, are you damned to burn in hell?

    Well, this has been chewing away at me.

    The Devil deceived Eve (and Adam, indirectly) into eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil or whatever, thus freeing them from being God's mere puppets, giving them critical thinking, right? He basically saved us from being God's slaves?

    Besides, now that I think of it, God killed about 2.5 million people (+ - some thousands), whereas the Devil only killed 10 (in the Bible). God denies access to his holy kingdom OoOoOo if you've been bad, whereas the Devil accepts anyone of God's unwanted children, isn't that kind of douchy by God? I mean, it says somewhere in the Bible that when you enter heaven;

    God will wipe the tears of sin off you (removing the 'curse' of the fruit that Eve and Adam ate), so why does he not accepts everyone and 'wipe their tears' to free them?

    I don't see the "God is about forgiveness and everyone should love him" argument as a good one.

    Question to non-believers:

    When you read the Gospels, you really don't feel anything? Do you feel like the words echo inside you, or do you feel nothing but just like reading any other book?

    Or do you feel some form of resistance in your perception or some kind of blockage or difficulty?

    Honestly please.

    I feel that I'm wasting time

    Yeah, sounds like you're trying to recreate the AC130K mission in MW2 (and as someone already linked, ).

    And rename it to BC260 (as a reference to AC130)

    AC130 = Attack Cargo, 130th Cargo Model since 1924 or something, when the first prototype was made

    BC260 = Battle Cruiser, 260th Cruiser Model.

    Good luck, will most definitely test it if it comes out =)

    Random Intrusion in this discussion, have you added the Kulkulan brood with the Roverlisks?

    Kulkulan Brood

    I know, the Brood was destroyed, but still =)

    Edit: Have you seen this page? Abilities that never made it through, might bring some ideas.

    Proton Charge looks quite interesting actually.

    Meh.

    The thing that saddens me the most is when I see things like this

    really..

    I mean, of course there are nice religious people too, but usually they are taking it too far (like the Chick-fil-A thing against gay marriage, or sons/daughters are kicked out because they no longer believe in god).

    No. I hate dubstep, it's a giant clusterfuck of sounds comming from mixers, screwdrivers, saws and random bleep blops.

    Although generally it depends on what mood I'm in, I listen to stuff like this;

    I was thinking of making a map, but I couldn't find the right abilities and triggers for it.

    Players

    How about making a remake of the WC3's 'God's domination'? Basically, it's an entirely flat area, with nothing but the 8 'cave men' these cave men will start out and build their own hut, where they can start spawning kids, which in turn will grow up to adults.

    Now you have options to turn those adults into warriors (by running them into a barracks/training ground thing) or workers (which they start out as, but I think you can upgrade them to make them better, permanent workers). If I remember correctly there are 3(/4) resources you need (ish): Food, Gold, Wood (and Power)

    Then it's just a game of evolution, you can upgrade your main house, to get better tech etc (then you'll have to start building power plants to power your buildings and upgrade stuff) then it's basically just a war against the other players. They can ally themselves, if they so desire.

    God

    Now this is an interesting and fun role, as the god can shape the terrain, add trees, animals (hostile and passive) and bandits.

    I left out gold, because gold is very special.

    To build gold mines, you require mana.

    And how do you acquire mana? You get worshipped.

    Players can in turn build a sacrificial ground (and when they upgrade it's a church) where they can sacrifice animals or workers/warriors (killing them of course) or worship (later). This will grant god mana, to build gold mines (and a couple of other things which I can't remember), meaning it's crucial you worship him, to give him mana and then he might reward you by building a gold mine 'close' to your base.

    Basically, it's a sandbox game for the god, shape terrain, spawn animals/bandits and place out gold mines/trees and watch the players fight.

    Whereas the players, it's like a half-scripted survival game with evolution and tactics evolved.

    It was super fun, especially with 8 (+1/God) players.
