posted a message on Need some help building a simple (I think) abilty.

Been trying to build an ability for some time without much success, so was hoping someone could instruct me how to do, or at least guide me in the right direction.

The ability I want is one that shoots a projectile from the unit towards target point (should be cast on the ground), and when it gets to the area, the projectile should explode, doing damage to units in the area (extra damage to structures, but think I've got that sorted). If possible, I'd like to have the targeting look like when you cast an area of effect spell (such as Psionic Storm).

posted a message on Anyway to research the same upgrade several times?

I've been trying to figure out a way to make a unit have to research an upgrade again every time it respawns, but haven't been able to figure out how to do so, what's the best way to do something like this?

Just to clarify, I want the bonus from the first research to be lost by the time the unit respawns.

posted a message on Switching between command cards

Haven't actually tried this out in game, so can't promise it works, but looking at various worker units, this should hopefully be how it's done:

Under the "CommandCard +" entry on a unit, just add a Button somewhere, as Command Type, chose "Submenu", then pick which Command Card you want to go to. There's a similar Command Type called "Cancel Submenu" which I assume brings you back to the original.

posted a message on Units connected in editor without my knowledge

Working on a map where certain buildings can only be built in specific locations, tried to do this by building a new unit off the vespene geysers, and then make it so the building can only be built on those structures, however, I've now got the problem that, as I change the name of my new unit, the name of regular Vespene Geysers change as well, and I have no idea why. I've looked at both units, and they don't share any actors or anything like that from what I can see, so not really sure what's causing it, I've had no problem changing models and other things on the model, but the specific line of its name seems to be related to the original unit for some reason. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
