Trying to start my first map (finally have free time) but found out quickly that terraining is boring and I find that it's difficult to take the idea in your head (or on paper) to the map. How do you guys do your terrains? How did you first learn? And does anyone actually like doing it???
It's nothing offensive, its just there and I dont ever look at it so I click the "delete" button on the first post (my own) and it says the administrator thing I mentioned before.
I started back on Starcraft 1 in 98'. My first map was a simple bunker wars game. I then spent a few months working on an RPG that I never got to release because my computer's hard drive took a crap on me. It would have been great too!
I definitely will! I've tried before but got busy with life (like losing a job) so I never actually got in it very deep. Does the editor give some good experience though? Can I take what I learned here and move it to a different platform?
Topic says it all! I want to learn how to do all this stuff and I see that people are doing some amazing things with SC2 editor, but don't know where to start. I got ideas and eventually I want to start a software company. Anyone have any suggestions? Should I start with the SC2 editor? Should I learn off the editor with the basic version of pro tools?
No :( I'm sorry. I'm a touch dyslexic and you lost me a little. I don't mean to be a douche, and maybe I'm just inexperienced at the editor, but you lost me.
I need help doing something with my minimap. I don't know what it is called so I don't know what to look for.
Basically what I want is the minimap to show a specific area of my map, not the whole thing. When the heroes are at their "base", just to show the "base". When they are in town, just to show the town. When they go into a forest area, just to show the forest. What is this called so I can search for it?
I've seen the tutorials and I'm trying to implement them but I get stuck on one part. I'm suppose to move the camera and point to the Unit. Problem is, when I create this trigger, all units are owned by player 0 (Neutral). I can't actually move the camera to the player's hero. Any help?
I have a question about a UI I saw. I was wondering how I would go about making something like this. I know you hide the default game UI, but past that, I've gotten lost. I thought it was cool so I'll just share some awesome pictures of it!

LOL that's so true! Glad you dug that up! I was just looking at jobs at Blizzard today but for the QA department.

Thanks for the reply and not a flame post. Does Blizzard have an ETA on the next patch?

Note 1 - Minimap was in top right-ish corner
