    you not even adding any criticizing value to the map you are arguing over arbitrary things like the word "original" Ive mad no comments agenst people who are providing info about the map, items ect... But you are criticizing my wording on the description of the map not the map it self. you are trolling just posting to be a jerk and providing no input on the map at all.

    Hero models are coming, and plenty of them.

    as for all the trolls, cant say it was unexpected because lets face it, mankind likes to watch things crash and burn. I hate to break it to you but this map is happening. It's not because i want to have the number 1 map on SC2, it's because I'm having fun doing it and I'm sure a lot of people will have fun playing it.

    this project will continue and i am working on another map at the moment also that may please the "I want a original map" people. Details on that project to come, it is much much bigger.

    a little insight my other map: RPG
    talent trees
    Items
    Heroes
    Simplified save/load system complete with UI
    Bosses with phases and tactics
    enemy AI
    New user UI

    this map is even further off. i have been messing around with prompts and am almost at the point where i can have a talent tree. if i can get the prompts working properly quests will be presented like in WoW, a pop up with accept and deny buttons. I also want to get a quest reward link in there to choose your reward. but like i said a lot of work to be done on this still. Pandora helps settle the dust because it's a lot easier to make than this RPG.

    Icefrog already said he isn't doing a Starcraft II port because Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends took Dota as far as it could go. The "dota" if you will, of starcraft II will be a new and original Aeon Of Strife style map, not just a port. Because no matter how well done the port is, it will never have a Game Engine, matchmaking, etc built specifically for it. So people who want to play dota will play one of those two games, and the rest will be playing whatever brilliant substitute takes the bnet throne.

    I am not being negative, I am just being honest, and hoping Neo's project flows with originality.

    The truth of the matter is not too many people have the knowledge and dedication to re-create dota. If someone sits down and tries to re-create it they are going to realize this map is going to take more than a few hours to recreate 60+ heroes with their own abilities and the 100's of items. not to mention the deep knowledge of the map editor. This is not exactly placing minerals next to a starting point.

    I think if i put the effort in to make this a great map it will be. I do not want it to look like i put it together with duct tape and thats exactly what others will look like if they do not do this properly.

    Humm at 1 to 1 port? ok ill port the existing items and heroes from dota and if i feel like making more heroes can port some HoN heroes over.

    I made a lot of progress today

    setup towers, Hardmode, easy mode and regular modes

    Got a Slew of units done and creeps.

    Rune (power up system) is up and running.

    as far as unit models is concerned the campaign units have not been added to the editor yet i will create the abilities and use temporary ones in the meantime. I am working on some spells this map will take months to make because of the large number of heroes and abilities involved. so waiting for unit models to be released is no big deal.

    I am excited for this project and hope to keep it up to date with DotA.
