    Got help from someone and finally solved the problem! It turned out that I need to change the Host Return and Host Support fields of the missle actor manually to the new value. Hope this helps others as well!

    I duplicated the Ghost and converted it to a new building using Missle Turret's model and changed movement to 0, added Turret, etc. The new Ghost Turret now can be built and attack correctly. However, its EMP Shockwave is only usable at 270 degree direction. Presumably the cause of the problem is that normal ghost needs to face the target before shooting out the EMP Shockwave but the new Ghost Turret cannot move.

    Do anyone know how to solve this?

    Just read something that might help with my second problem and I would like to share it here:

    This is one of the items in data editor: Response Abilities Drop Down Menu

    This dictates the core unit's response when it takes damage.

    • Acquire: The core unit will acquire the attacking unit as a target, and attack if possible, if not the core unit will flee.
    • Flee: The core unit will move directly away from the attacking unit.
    • No Response: The core unit will do nothing in response to being attacked.

    I have the same problem too! The duplicated Spine Crawler can deal damage no problem but there is no animation. I tried duplicating the Spine Crawler Turret and Spine Crawler Weapon but still the same.

    I failed to solve the problem by changing the priority of the dependencies. Though it might be similar problem as I found out that it is likely due to a bug encountered when I modify any pre-existing units. After I stopped modifying pre-existing units and duplicate them instead, it looks fine so far.

    I am thinking of making a unit that can build plateform, and certain other buildings can only been built on those plateform but I cannot think of a way to do this. Is this possible?

    Last night I was working on my new map. I modified my units and added a few triggers. However, when I tested the map using the test button at right upper corner, strange things happened. Sometimes the map ran like a melee map as if I haven't added any triggers at all (I had already deleted all the melee map trigger); sometimes the map had the triggers run correctly but my new units did not show up, or showed up as semi-modified version that didn't have the latest changes I had made.

    Do anyone else encounter this strange problem? Is this related to the test map function of the editor and I need to open the map manually in game? Is it possible that I did not properly uninstalled the beta version of SC2 might cause this problem?

    I had good experience with WC3 editor and am still learning the new SC2 editor currently. Right now, there are a few problem I encountered:

    1) I followed the creating hero tutorial and made a hero unit that level up with kills. However, how to add a visual effect (like that of WC3 heroes) to the hero when he levels up?

    2) How to make player controlled units don't attack / flee by themselves when enemy is nearby but do so only when ordered?

    3) I created a hero using High Templar as template. At first, his Psi Storm was not usable because it required research. I added a trigger the remove all tech requirement as a workaround but how can I remove the requirement at data editor level?

    4) Then since I was going to adjust Psi Storm damage and didn't want to mess up the original Psi Storm, I copied a new Psi Storm for the hero High Templar. Everything was fine except the new Psi Storm has no graphical effect. What did I miss?

    p.s. The data editor is way too complex than I would like. I know it is supposed to be like this because it allows map creators to create whatever they like. Nevertheless, the learning curve is too deep and the process of making something out of it is too time-consuming. I hope Blizz can add some kind of "unit creation wizard", "ability creation wizard", etc.

    If you turn on the option that show the galaxy editor current frame per second, very often you will see some crazy numbers up to 300-500 frames per second or even higher. I heard that someone got their display card damaged because of this but I couldn't find any posts about this at official forum or here. Has this been mentioned before at official forum or here?

    I know there is an option in preference to set frame per second limit but it doesn't seen to work.

    Also, sometimes switching of the unit preview option can solve this but sometimes can't and I need to reboot. Any idea what's causing this?

    Weird bug indeed. Hope they fix this before final release.

    I encounter another bug with one of the leaderboard action (can't remember which one right now) which doesn't let me to use leaderboard variable I created. (Other leaderboard actions are fine.)
