Thanks for the help, but I was actually hoping to apply this to all units on the map at all times. Would it be possible to do this via data? I'm working on a horror type map and this could really increase the immersion that I'm aiming for :|
Not sure about creating a ramp with triggers but you could easily block a ramp off with debris and destroy those debris when the ability/option/area is purchased.
Uhhh... Consider starting from scratch? I looked at your map and couldn't find any issues other than the model for the Tauren Marine being a solid black circle. If starting over isn't an option you could make a test map with it working correctly and copy the data over.
Go into the data editor-> Find the Marine in the Unit data type-> In the field below where you selected the Marine (With the actors and such), scroll down till you see Models and click Marine-> Scroll down until you see "View in previewer", and, above the are that shows the Marine, click browse-> Select the TaurenSpacemarine model.
Run a test map. Build one at a bunker. If a tauren pops out, you did it right.
But about the "normal melee map" bit: I'm not sure marines will remain in their edited state if the map is run in melee mode, but I can't be arsed to test it so don't believe me.
Sorry for the trivial question, but I just can't seem to find the answer. I've searched every data type in the data editor for Colonist/Civilian/Male/Female. All dependencies are active, and I've tried searching with only one dependency active (For each of the seperate dependencies.). Help?
Damn the limitations, but thanks for the answer. Is there any possibility of tansitioning being supported in the future? Is Blizzard even planning on updating the editor at all? Sorry for asking questions that could easily answered with google, but you seem well informed.
So recently I've been planning a rather expansive project that really can't be done on a single map and have been wondering... Would it be possible to not only change maps with multiple players but also transfer the heros (Exp data and potentially player selected skills for their respective heroes) for each of those players? Any input on the subject is greatly appreciated.
P.S. Not looking for a tutorial of any kind(I like doing these things myself), just wondering if anyone more experienced with Galaxy knows if it is possible or not.

Don't have Skype on this laptop atm but I can grab it easily.

I can do Intermediate-Advanced data editing if you need it.

It can be done with an autocast ability. If you don't know how to set up the ability I could help.

Because it is a custom unit that can't be built normally, just create a new button.

The red oval is how I would like the sight to be, almost like the unit has a flashlight. How would I go about creating this effect (If possible)?

Google docs maybe? I know there are better solutions for this but I can't think of their names at the moment.

Sorry. Typed that with my face in a blind rage.
How can I implement Colonists in my map?
