posted a message on Looking for Tutorial

    Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a tutorial on how to make a structure that's capable of training units. When I went to the wiki, the only tutorials I saw regarding the data editor were ones with attacks/weapons (like a Photon Cannon). I'm looking for information on how to create a structure with a custom model (the Automated Refinery model) which is capable of training SCV's. Preferably, I'd like to make the unit from scratch so I know exactly what is where. I'm trying to learn how to use the Data Editor on a higher level, but can't seem to find any tutorials which explain everything in-depth.

    Thanks, Sin

It's a great map. I enjoy it thoroughly and play it semi-commonly. However, I think this modding thing is going to your head man. Game designer/programmer? Quality assurance? EU representative? That's what you need when you get a full game going. Doesn't work with mods.

posted a message on Looking For 5-10 Active Map Testers

Hello everyone. I'm not a well known face in the modding community of StarCraft 2, but I've been in production of a map over the past few weeks which I hope will bring the aspects of some of the more popular maps out there and bring them into a competitive masterpiece.

Currently the teams revolve around a 3v3 environment. The goal is to include a spawning system in which every player trains units through a custom UI and pits them against the enemy every 10 seconds. These units will be categorized as melee, ranged, and armored. Each unit will have it's ups and downs, and every category its counter. Amidst the chaos of choosing the right units and knowing what your opponent is doing, there are 6 micro-commands available for each unit allowing you to control them mid-combat. This incorporates the micromanagement of a StarCraft II ladder match... without the 300 APM requirement.

This is a quick screenshot showing you the pre-alpha version of the UI and what the overall map layout looks like:

I'm looking for 5-10 testers, or enough people on my friends list at the same time to get a 6-person game going. Preferably, testers should be able to talk to me on Ventrilo and discuss the game and ideas as we play. The map is still in a very early stage and I'm hoping to get the best ideas into it before I even think about releasing it. So yes, I want to hear any opinions anyone has on it, from praise to brutal honesty. I want to know what you think as a tester and your job is to let me know. Hopefully it'll be a good time. Oh, and as a side note: I provide the cookies and milk.

Here is my StarCraft II info if you'd like to talk in-game:

    Name: SinisteRing

    Character Code: 720

I'm also active on the BLGaming Public Ventrilo:

    IP: 64.237.62.226

    Port: 4274
