Use foliage around trees and maybe lower them a tad.
Deform the ground to give definition.
Also maybe use a dash of mist/fog
I'm pretty new with the editor but i like this kinds of exercises. they really help :) Here we go, my first try.
You have a skull and a rock in the crater, i would think the ship crash landing there would have destroyed anything in its path.
The Focus settings of the camera is used great. Well done

To find sky boxes, go into model tab and filter search sky box.

Also remember you can modify the color. a lot of people miss this simple setting.

Find the doodad rock and increase scale 400 or 500, this will give you a nice wall or roof. Goodluck

@PatchOne Textures display fine in 3ds max, I just need to import them into the data editor :P.
EDIT:
Successfully imported the model and texture. 1 of 11 parts done, now for the chevrons .
