posted a message on StarCraft 2 was announced 10 years ago today!

Haha neat, I remember when I was just ten years old at its announcement. I started my obsession with the first StarCraft upon hearing about SC2, creating a "tie-over" for until July 2010...

posted a message on (WIP Custom Campaign) - DarkKazoie's Campaign

There are plenty of places to expand on the original story that would make good side-stories for a campaign. For example, my brother is currently working on a side-story for the Nerazim following Vorazun that will lay out how the Nerazim survived on their own. Here's a list of ideas to get you going.

    • Project Shadowblade: Expand on why Gabriel Tosh hates the Dominion.
    • Stealing the Hyperion: Illustrate events leading up to the Raiders stealing the Dominion Flagship, Hyperion.
    • Infested: The Story of Stukov: Explain what he tried to do to exact revenge on Emil Narud.
    • The Adept: The Adept named Talis likely had a role to play before she died in the LotV prologue. Tell players what it was.
    • The First Ascendant: Describe the history of Alarak and the efforts he took to advance Amon's influence until he discovered Amon's betrayal and Mal'lash's web of lies.

These are just a few, but there are many more storylines to choose, and new ones to make up that are parallel to the original timeline.

posted a message on Bi-Weekly Mapster Community Testing Intro!

I think I've missed quite a lot, but from what I read about this new bi-weekly event, it seems like a plausible way to grow interest and appreciation for members in the community, some of which may be undiscovered (although I highly doubt it, the community seems pretty interwoven).

I will try to play these maps if I can and give feedback, whether or not it's selected.

I fully agree with you since the initial balance of the games were exceptionally screwed up every time (although I wouldn't go as far as to slam David Kim directly). It doesn't help when stuck-up punks in high-level leagues tell lower players "balance doesn't apply to you because you suck" I myself used to be an experienced Protoss veteran of the original StarCraft multiplayer, and I witnessed the same crap happen there too, which is why I never got SC2. I think some of the more mature, respectful SC2 players exist in the Mapster community, which doesn't welcome such nonsense.

I believe the balance team holds some responsibility. I know it's a very difficult task to go about doing but at the very least acknowledge the consensus of the community with regard to the game. My brother had a field day when LotV was first released since he plays Zerg, and we all know how balanced Zerg was in LotV's first release, even after months of beta testing.

posted a message on [Campaign] Unification of Purifiers

I'm glad that this is free, but I would categorize it as UGC (user-generated content) more than DLC. I hate DLC's because most of the time video game companies split up one game into chunks and sell those chunks as DLC. This doesn't deserve a raw-felt association with DLC because it is a completely independent storyline only making use of the characters and factions within a parental universe of lore...

However, I have heard good things about Nova: Covert Ops which is quite a relief since DLC's are usually bad unless it is...nevermind. I can't think of any other good DLC packs that companies have released to gamers.

How does one create units in a Drop Pod using triggers? It seems that the newer versions of the Editor do not have this function.

Great job! If anyone out there is feeling a little nostalgic, it's because you might've been reminded of the Metro Tunnels in Fallout 3 :D

I don't know but I found them similar.

posted a message on been having editor problems. is it because of my dependency?

That happens to me too. When the editor starts up and I'm asked if I want to continue without the HotS and LotV dependencies, I say no. Then, I just click "Open" at the top left and find my document. If I open indirectly, everything is fine.

My brother won't admit it but he's been talking about wanting to submit one of his prototype multiplayer scenario maps for this potential event once it's fully flushed out. On behalf of him I'm just putting this out there.
