    I'm trying to put together stuff for a fansite(lol) to build up our flash section. I've extracted all the spell icons and the border frames that I planned on using, but I'm having trouble recreating the exact effect that is used in SC2.

    So far, I'm basically running the following: 1) Extract btn-border-ability.dds (or just grab the .tga) 2) Duplicate the background (of the border), hide the original background 3) Use channel mixers to convert to monochrome with an emphasis on green to maintain highlighting for the border 4) Add a color fill layer as the top layer, blending mode set to Overlay 5) Convert border layer blending mode to Linear Dodge (add) 6) Throw in the spell icon

    If it helps, I can attach a psd. I doubt many people will need this sort of thing but I figured why not~

    Also, I'm having trouble adjusting the camera angle within the previewer which is kind of annoying.

    Should I be using another program to just upload a model (in this case, the murloc one since I haven't successfully recreated the others yet)?

    I don't have access to the unit models themselves and what's worse is that the models aren't exactly custom, but attached for effects :V

    If it helps, the map is SotIS by eckolnovkol and I'm trying to recreate the Shadow.Geminus and Infernal.Mandrake look to get a screencap in the previewer. I found the tint/added model for Shadow but can't seem to get them to work for the previewer.

    Bonus points if you know how to export a screencap style image from the previewer. More bonus points if you know how to change the color of the background :V

    posted a message on [Help Me] Recreating Character Icons

    I know how to do all the photoshop stuff with creating a tga/dds for implementation, but what I need help with is getting a good screencap of a model to make my job of alpha layering easier (i.e. not using a gameplay screenshot).

    I noticed that the previewer in the editor is very very nifty in this regard.

    Anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this? Trying to help out someone who has made a fun map.
