posted a message on How does a CValidatorLocationArc validator work?

    Hi guys.

I have an ability which I'd like the unit to only be able to use on targets which are in front of it. So, I created a Location Arc validator but I still can't figure out how it works. What should I put as Target - Location, Target - Other Location and Validator - Value? I have a feeling that the validator works by setting the base angle by connecting two points given (from one of the data fields mentioned previously) and then check the remaining point's relative angle.

If if so, I have no idea how I can go about doing what I want in this manner.

    I'd appreciate all your help,
    Klishu

p.s.: One solution would be to use [HIDDEN] or [SPOILER] tags around each video.

The browser still loads the video object. It just doesn't show it.

posted a message on The Starcraft 2 Capture the Flag Mod

    Hello all,

I invite everyone here to take a look at the Starcraft 2 Capture the Flag Mod I made on: http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/ctf_mod/

My aim was to try and make a Capture the Flag mod that needed almost no work on the part of the map author and also to further my skills in using the Data Editor. In fact, I tried to avoid using triggers as much as possible to implement the whole system (unfortunately, defeating a player required triggers).

All a map author has to do to have Capture the Flag gameplay in his map is simply add the mod file as a dependency. I'd really appreciate it if you could take a look at the Mod and provide feedback.

    Hope you like it,
    Klishu

posted a message on Publishing Mods

    Hello there.

Anyone managed to successfully publish mods on Battle.net and use them for his maps?

Each time I load a map that uses the published mod I get the following errors:

Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Beams from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/BeamData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Digital Sound Effects from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/DSPData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Errors from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/ErrorData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Fog of War Data from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/FoWData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Items from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/ItemData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Item Classes from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/ItemClassData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Loot from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/LootData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Reverb Effects from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/ReverbData.xml'
Error: Error (Core: file not found) occurred while loading Target Sorts from game data file 'Base.SC2Data\GameData/TargetSortData.xml'

When I test the map, it simply refuses to run with a "Cannot launch game" error.

I didn't touch any of the files mentioned above so don't know why it isn't working.

Here is my entry for the competition. It is entitled 'Get a Mac' For Starcraft II. Preferably, you should download the map file and see it in-game as the program I use for recording the screen obviously doesn't capture at the game's quality and for some reason, the audio is delayed.

    Anyway, here's the video:

Also, I'm not the best of voice actors... hehe.
