I'm actually quite surprised it's not going to be free.
If anything with LoL being massive and having half a million users at any given time vs HoN being a mere blip on the radar with only 50k it would show the difference.
Lets see how well it sells thou.
Yeah I am predicting failure if it isn't free. HoN went free to play and is drawing in massive amounts of people now. And with the F2P model, people aren't going to be inclined to switch after taking hours and hours to unlock all their favorite heroes..
if you are talking about the battlefield 2 thing, i played it with 2 friends over battlenet to try it out and it was pretty good for an sc2 fps, but it was definitely laggy. I was basically impossibe to kill to other players because of the lag and health regeneration.
They had to create everything including the triggers and dialog borders and such as well. And generally, if they make something using their own editor with dialog triggers, its not gonna be hard to recreate. They had to come up with this idea and make it.
On a side note, excellent job, i recreated it too just to show i could, but the only thing i couldnt get right was the little stat buttons for life and such. Only messed around for a few hours and didn't really wanna do anything with it so i left out the stat bubble things.
Edit: By the way, do you actually know the files used for the borders and such, or did you just screenshot the dialog they made and use that as your image? Looks like you just took a picture of theirs and made it your background picture after cropping out their texts and such
When importing a unit that has preloaded animations on it, how do i access these and set them to the corresponding animations. Example: I want to set my imported unit's attack animation.
generally for contests, the fun part is that everyone has the same time constraint. Its an honor system so you can submit them and lie about it, we wont know, but your generally supposed to come up with a map in the time of the contest.
Thats what i was talking about. the only cursor that is right on seems to be the normal and busy, the other ones are slightly off including text being oriented towards the top and the link cursor seems to be centered a bit to the left
ive done a little testing and the windows hand seems to be more precise. If you'd like i can post 2 screen shots later showing what i mean so you have an idea?
and also, just a small thing don't know if its possible to work around, but the link cursor is a little bit off from the tip of the hand, so when you try to hit a small X to close a window and things like that, it won't work until your mouse is slightly to the right (for me) of the X
