posted a message on Canceling unit training

Does anyone know what trigger action to use to cancel the training of a unit? I feel like it should be really easy but I haven't been able to figure it out. I'm guessing its some kind of issue order. Tried some things that seemed obvious but they didn't work.

No. But I used the "construction" mover and that seems to work lol.

I think I just figured it out. It seems to be because the transport is at a slightly different elevation than the units.

EDIT: lol I gave it a cliff jumper mover and it works. The editor is a strange beast.

EDIT 2: well...now the transport can't unload if you use unload all to target the ground. So if you know anything about this, what the best mover type would be, please let me know.

Yes, I tried increasing the load range of the transport to a super huge range and it didn't improve it. And I don't think its the first thing, because it will happen with one single unit all alone and no other units around it, and in the cases when it doesn't work the units don't start moving and then stop, they just never move at all.

posted a message on Units randomly not loading.

I am having an issue with loading units as cargo that I have been trying to fix for the longest time but I am starting to give up. When units are told to load, about 50% of the time they will do nothing. That's the weird thing, its not even a problem that always happens. Sometimes the units will load into the ship, sometimes nothing happens. It makes it incredibly annoying to load large groups of units. This happens when you use the units to click on the transport. If you use the transport to click on the unit, it always works. The transport ability is just the medivac ability. I've tried making a new transport ability from scratch and it still happens. Anyone have any idea why this might happen?

posted a message on How do you make a condition to check for game variant??

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get my tutorial to run with the b.net tutorial button.

I have added a second map variant of the tutorial type. I have gone to b.net info and set the map tutorial to be the tutorial variant. I have a trigger that will run the tutorial. I'm trying to make the condition for that trigger to be if the tutorial game variant is run. I'm assuming that's the way to do it? I must be setting up the condition wrong.

It seems like you would want to go to game attribute value....and then game mode? And then what? It doesn't make sense to me. Please help!

This is definitely a Mac issue. I still haven't found a direct fix to the problem, but I have found a work around, although it will require you to purchase Windows if you don't already have it. I was able to successfully publish my map with no screenshot issues through Windows 10 running on Virtual Box. VB is a virtual machine, essentially a computer within a computer that runs on part of your hard drive that you can dedicate to a different OS.

posted a message on Help with spawn locations

    Easy.

For the location - Create a region where ever you want the spawning location to be. Then you'll need a trigger: Event: Unit (your spawning unit) creates a unit using ability (your spawning ability). Action: Move created unit instantly to center of region (your spawning region).

For the boundary - Added on to the end of the same trigger above.... Pick each unit in region (your spawning region) and do actions: Modify variable (a local integer variable) +1. IF variable => the limit of how many units you want, THEN disable ability (your spawning ability) for unit (your spawning unit).

I am having an issue with publishing my map that I'm hoping somebody knows how to fix. When I publish it, the screenshots show up on b.net with the colors all reversed. Blue turns to red, green turns to orange, etc. Its not anything to do with the map file itself. I've had friends publish the file from their computers and it turns out fine. I'm thinking it might be because I have a mac (I know...). Anyone know anyway I can fix this so I can publish it myself and have the screenshots come out looking normal on b.net? The screenshots are all .DDS format.

I have just released the beta for my new game, Warfare1942! It is a highly strategic global domination game, set in the year 1942 during the Second World War. This game is a historical scenario that allows you to control one of five major warring powers: The Soviet Union, Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, and United States. It is largely based off of the popular board game called Axis&Allies.

Due to lack of AI, the game currently requires 5 human players. I have set up a chat group for the game called "Warfare1942", hopefully this will be helpful in finding other people who want to play.

Check out the game on the arcade! It is currently titled "Warfare1942 (BETA)".

If you play the game please give it a rating and any feedback in the reviews section will be greatly appreciated so long as it is polite. This is only the beta so it is likely that community feedback will be necessary to get the balance and game mechanics exactly right.

For more information about the game, see www.warfare1942.webs.com

I want to thank the good people of SC2 Mapster for helping me along the way and answering questions!
