posted a message on Stasis effect

Hey guys lately i have been trying to apply a stasis effect to an hybrid. i was abble to do this by applying an arbiter stasis field behavior to him but i dont want to have the stasis field around him id like it to be invisible. So i would like to know how to make it invisible or how to simply just "freeze" the hybrid in time without needing to apply that behavior.

Thank you both! My cinematic is working as I want to now. Need to do some tweaks still. Ill just use an arbiter stasis field around the hybrid, it looks like ice to a degree and I think its better then nothing.

posted a message on Cinematic ending on black screen

Hey guys, I started to make my first cinematic a while ago, and as soon as i was done with all that I needed I tested it. First it skipped the first camera, ran all the others like it should, playing all the talking and stuff, and when the final cutscene ended my screen came out black and with the same angle that i used on the last camera. I managed to fix the issue of jumping the first camera and now all of them are running like they should, but the screen still ends black after the fade out. I did turn off cinematic mode, and I have no idea why this happens so if anyone knows about how to fix this I'd really apreciate your help. Also I'd like to add a group of zerglings attack my base during the cinematic. I did not manage to pull it off myself so if you could help me with that aswell id be much apreciated too!

And just a question: In the cinematic that I made, an hybrid is meant to unfreeze. The trigger is working well I suppose because it is doing everything but I cannot see the hybrid frozen. Is there no model for a frozen hybrid? I wanted something similar to the hydralisks on HotS campaign.

posted a message on Hybrid Campaign Project - Feedback

Just played the first mission and I loved it! Im a fan of installation missions and this one is blizzard quality.

    - Terrain was awesome, the lab had the creepy and mysteryous look that makes the map so wonderful to play, and lets the player get involved on the story himself. Congrats to terrain artists!

    - Gameplay was good, the fact that you learn abilities while playing, makes the story better simply by the fact that she just woke up, and she shouldn't have all her powers when she awakes so thats a plus. I also like the feel of exploration that you have at the beggining, not knowing what you are doing there, while some instalation missions are just straight "escape the facility" or "destroy target ???", but in here its diferent. The empathy of the hybrid is something that we had never seen before. We were made to believe that the hybrid were killers, that did nothing more besides causing destruction and obeying Amon, and in this mission, the hybrid have a more human look, actually caring with the lives they must slay along the lab. This is something new, and even the fact that Subject 1115 is a female is also interesting because before, only male hybrids have been seen and we had no idea if there were any female hybrids whatsoever and therefore a plus imo. The SCV's are not repairing, are they meant to repair or just sit like that? The dificulty is just about right, it forces the player to micro a bit and evaluate the situation before engaging, else most likely ending up loosing hybrid. I do not know if it is necessary to rescue all the hybrids, since I think that i rescued all of them but as mentioned above, a counter would be nice. I think that slighly scaling up the Hybrid Hunters and possibly even Subject would be good, they look kinda small for hybrids.

    - Lorewise I have some doubts, first are we really on a Dominion facility? The only known experiment that the Dominion conducted with hybrid was on the secret mission "Piercing the Shroud" and all the other research was conducted by the Moebius, and Moebius and Dominion are seperate entities, even before LotV, Dominion founded the Moebius research. The conversation between the scientist and Ma'lash is a bit controversial aswell, because I honestly don't see the Dominion working with Tal'Darim, and a Dominion scientist saying that he only obeys Amon and not the Tal'Darim, that seems more like Moebius style, but ofcourse, this opens a door to many possibilities in the story that you are develloping so im actually curious to see how this will end up.

Looking forward for the next maps, this has alot of potential, and I cant wait to get my hands on that hybrid race you are building :)

posted a message on Legends of the Void RPG Map

I really enjoyed playing this map. I played it with a few friends and we had a great time on doing so. I loved the terrain, I liked the idea of having seperate terrain sets for diferent areas of the map, which is something that in the few RPG's that I have played I did not encounter. I also find most RPG terrains tedious, and since much time on RPG's is put onto farming, I think that a good terrain is helpfull to keep the game atractive. About gameplay, I liked the base defense style that you gave to the map. On the RPG's that I have played, its not exactly challenging (at least for me) as for most of them were just farming and when u did get attacked, you could defend yourself pretty easilly, but in here the attacks are more constant and threatening and you must keep an eye on your base(I did not play thru all acts). You have much items. I'd suggest you to simplify it by removing some and buffing the remaining ones while making them more expensive to keep the balance on it. I was like hours staring at all the items to know what to buy. The heroes are ok, but im very critic about this, and since I play some really fast paced MOBA's, you can choose not to care much about this line, some of the abilities of your heroes I did not find much use for. For me on the design of an hero, all the skills must be good for something and I did not find that in all heroes. But ofc as I said, I play those fast paced MOBAs where all abilities are strong, quick and usefull for teamfights etc (donĀ“t know if im explaining well in here). The dificulty was just about fine for me and my friends and we did not have a hard time at all.

posted a message on Idea for a Campaign

Hey guys so I had this idea for a campaign focused on Amon's return, but not as the evil guy but someone that was "miss-understood". I explain: First of, I loved LotV campaign but the Epilogue was terrible imo. It felt like rushed and that ALOT of things were unexplained.I have this friend who knows alot about the lore and red about this "Voice in the Darkess" entity that, to anyone who does not know, is not Amon. He told me that this entity could take control about pretty much anything and make him stronger. His idea was: what if Amon was being controlled from the beggining by this entity? Imo it would explain why the final battle against Amon was so easy and why he offered very little resistance (talking much about the final lvl and not the epilogue as a whole), for I think that most people were expecting a boss battle that would be more challenging, something similar to the "Supreme" mission on HotS campaign. Now as for the story, me and my friend thought about ressurecting Amon and after battling the factions leaders and kerrigan, ally with them to defeat this "Voice in the Darkness" entity. Now shortly speaking, the campaign at first will go around an heroic hybrid that survived due to being frozen on an unknown world. This hybrid will gather energy or something that could amplify his power to ressurect Amon (maybe some kind of special crystal?). This will lead to an Hold-Out mission where the factions leaders will try to stop the ressurection at all costs. Kerrigan will make her apearance in a map focused on battling her. Not to make this much longer finally Amon will ally with them after telling them that he was actually possesed by this entity and did not intend to make so much destruction. Then they would fight the entity. Now about making the maps, I have a little knowledge about the editor, for I have started not long ago, I understand a little bit of triggers and AI (after a few complications), I also feel that if I put some effort in the Terrain it comes out fairly decent but I do not know pretty much anything about the cutscene and data editor. The summer holidays are coming and in 1 week I will have alot of time to work on this but I feel that alone, I will not be able to complete this, at least not before the summer ends, which by then will become hard for me to mapmake. I would like to know if there is anyone that would be interested in helping on the development of the maps.Or even someone that I could count with to help me to solve problems so that I can make this faster? If you would like me to explain the story in a more detailed way, feel free to pm me. Also what are ur thoughts about it? Please let me know about them!

Sorry for not responding faster but I had a school project that took up alot of my time. Aniway, I had done all of those before except adding the condition of while hive(since working with zerg ai) is alive and it was not working. Im also working with 2 AI's since the enemmy will have 2 bases.Could this have implications on it? Ill try adding ur condition now and say how it worked.

posted a message on Attack Waves not working

Hey so im making a map at the moment for a friend that asked me to do so.I dont know much of the editor yet so i decided to open some blizzard campaign maps and copy the triggers that they use to make the ai send attack waves.I switched everything that i had to according to my map.The problem is that the ai doesnt buikd any units nor any units spawn.I did this first using the ai module and then triggers but none worked.I have made some units available for use on attack waves so the ai could just grab them and send them but nothing happens.I have started the ai and i setted them to computer on player properties and everything else is working, workers are mining, enemmy units try to kill mine when mine get to a spot where they are visible, even upgrades are working but the ai doesnt do anything at all.Can someone help me with this issue?
