If you want to do particles with the current version you're on your own.

I recommend you to wait for the next version :) I don't know when it will be released but it will be and I will even PM you when it's there.

Oh! I think I hit a sweet spot there huh? ;)

First of: Don't get excited, I know that you did it and you're going to defend it, but I didn't attack you. As Juxtapozition noticed - it's constructive criticism. Second: Where did I compare that to Pixar? Hmm? Nowhere :)

I didn't expect you to make a full blown presentation. Short is fine with me. I recommend reading my previous post again (this time letting your emotions chill just a bit) and see just what I'm trying to convey there.

And how do you know if I'm not the audience you're trying to attract? :)

As I wrote on the end of my last post, so I do here <3 (this is heart, the symbol of love, meaning that you won't find hate here, maybe just a bit of sarcasm :D )

Guys, with all due respect, please, learn to present yourself. You have 2:20 movie with 0:36 + a few seconds on the end of NOTHING, that's 1/4 of just signs like "presents".

I understand that you're proud of it and you think that what you did is a great thing but I just turn off whatever I'm watching if I see that kind of practice because it's just a waste of my time. By the time I got to the real presentation of a mod I got bored. I watched it, because I wanted to know what is it all about but if I wasn't checking this link from this site, I'd just skip it.

The features which fly around the screen during gameplay could be white. Red is often dissapearing.

If you're going to send a portfolio in a future with that kind of ratio (signs/actual content) I guarantee you won't have much luck with it. The best guys from Pixar just say to have like 2-3 seconds of information on the creator and then just pure, the best content.

I might look into it, didn't really check the compatibility with the arcade. Do attachement volumes have anything to do with selection?

I could be wrong but you cant really modify a model's mesh with an xml, No? So that kinda defeats the point?

Well it's not. There are dependencies like skinning and bone structures (which modify the mesh) so what you're asking for is something more then just decomposing and composing the file back.

Well I tested the scipts on max2010, 2011 (which is a developement version) and 2012. It works just as intended on all of those versions.

Did you place the sc2objects.ms file in \plugins\ folder? If not, go to TOOLS -> MAXSCRIPT -> RUN and run the sc2objects.ms and then RUN m3_import and m3_export

I don't know. With the next version, particles will be somehow different (how much? I don't know yet ;) )

I don't know about you but when I look at all the mods using the same models I feel that I'm playing the same game :/ Really. So totally new models are something that also gives me feeling that what I'm playing is something different.

I agree with the time consuming factor. Nonetheless I think that creating a custom model just gives this unique feeling to your mod.

That's one of the worst posts I've ever read :) C'mon man!

    But that isn't original work.

I totally agree here :) Blizzard actually gave us an engine to play around with. So basically the sky is the limit. I'd be delighted to see mods come out that don't rely so much on the assets delivered with the game or even that don't rely on those assets at all (even on the tilesets)

After all, you can do units from scratch so why not do it?

    @GhostNova91: Go

I was just curious but you welcome :) Thanks to all of my predecessors of course!

Well, I didn't mean that by saying "to team-up". What I meant was to know what other person is doing so you won't get in each other way and won't do the same thing twice.

One, little recommendation: I think that for a pure modding purposes you could try to use println's python scripts. They are really easy to use and very handy dandy.
