By the way, Im trying to atatch an auto turret to the back of a truck model, the only problem is that the truck has no weapons so i can't add the weapon. Any pointers that could put me on the right track?
So to all the map makers out there who want your some good soundtrack for you map and aren't afraid of copyright infringement, I have created this thread.(If you can get in contact with some of the people who made these and they let you use it that would be great, but sadly unrealistic)
What to look for in this thread:
-Various musical themes from obscure games that could very easily come off as fresh to someone not versed in the old games department.
-If you have soundtracks you would like to share you can just post them and I will encompass them and give you the credit for posting.
-Inspiration for a map
-Semi-old games that you can look up and buy for cheap prices.
Note: I don't know a thing about how to implement it in game but I have seen it done( In Runnling Run there was some funky music playing, but it might have been just some guy using the in game chat system to play music to annoy people to death )
The following videos are grouped by themes, such as ambient contiguous music and what kind of general setting you could use it in.
For example:
The majority is also contained in a playlist that i have made(primarily for myself as i get bored by the same terran rock music over and over.)
Hey im playing around with the idea of becoming a map reviewer, but im too intimidated to go and do video reviews.
Im posting this thread in the hopes someone will click out of interest and awnser a few questions so i can think about how i should get started.
How many people really think a video is essential to review a map?
If there were only text reviews, what would it take to keep your interest?
How many screenshots would you expect per map review?
Who would you most likely look at more, someone who posted videos, or someone who posts text reviews?
If someone had a funny accent, speech patern or something, but was still understandable, would you still watch their reviews?

It looks mighty fine indeed.

Was the video REALLY necessary?
nah jk, I lol'd.
The turoial is quite good. My bachelor pad could use something like that ;)

Does Epic necessarily mean big?

Very nice! Its too bad that my current map is not in the sky.

Thats how i do it, but somehow I ended up losing the original model when i duplicated the object.
For instance, I started with 6 models, but ended up with only five models in the duplicated object

The problem I have is that I've made a new unit, but for some reason the main model was not duplicated. How do I make the unit use that model?

Are turrets only limited to buildings?

I keep getting a 404 for the attachment tutorial

Does it always happen at the same place, no matter what the time is?
Does the unit approach a point, or unit around that place?
Then its related to a point or unit in the game, look at all your point and unit triggers and see if they are all alright.
If it happens at different locations, look at any time triggers you have in place.

I think the mapping world would hail you as a modeling god from now on if you gave them an alternate terrain like this.

Ambient Music
-
-A peaceful theme for say, introducing the player to the game in a non threatening way, or if your doing a kind of Agria type of world this would be very fitting.
-
-
Ambient Music and Intro Music Hybrids
-
Intro Music- something you would use for the opening cinematic of your map.
-
- *Also appears in the Nostalgia Sauce section
- *Warning, an Intro this long will piss of players who have seen it more than once.
Combat Music- -
-
-
-
-
-
-
Ambiguous-
Here I require help actually finding a purpose for the soundtrack. It sounds good but has no distinct theme that comes to mind.
-
-
Nostalgia Sauce-
Good old soundtracks that can be used purely for their nostalgic properties.

- *Also appears in the Intro section
