    I am trying to make my transmission text appear but I seem to be unable to find out how to do it.

    I searched the forums and discovered others used to have the same problem, and they fixed it by giving the transmission no sound link. Could someone post a screen shot of that being done so I can copy their method?

    posted a message on Trouble shooting an idea for this map...

    The basic idea without giving away too much of the details is this.

    There are two players and they each have to go around capping points with their individual heroes. They must also avoid regular patrols that pass by these points from time to time. However, they must stand still for the point to be captured. When the capture is done, the model of the points changes too.

    So far I am trying to think up a system of triggering these "point captures" when a player wants to.

    My ideas so far: I made an ability that does absolutely nothing. But when the player presses the ability in a certain region, the player loses control of his/her hero unit, and a progress bar appears over them, telling the player how much time is left.

    What i need help with:

    Is there an easier/cleaner way to do this? I had a look at the "welcome to the jungle" campaign map and they had something very similar, except they used a custom resource and SCVs. Would it be better to do my system a similar way?

    I love this idea, but sadly I lack the expertise or the will to do a squad system, but has anyone ever played the dawn of war series? The squad mechanics in that game are my favorite by far in any game. If anyone is lacking in inspiration i think they should check out dawn of war 2 for a second and take a gander at what they are doing.

    Dear Forum, I am trying to do the following:

    I want to add the Reaper D-8 charge ability to a building.

    In order to do this I've duplicated the ability and taken the abilities requirement(you need to have researched the ability in the campaign menu) so that it would work for the building. However when I try casting the ability it does not spawn the reaper bombs, nor does the ability actually trigger.

    I also gave this ability to another unit and when i cast it the ability worked fine.

    Is there anyone who has encountered this problem before and could help me?

    Even though the pictures disapreared, this was humongously helpful. I dont know why people still use triggers for things that can be done in data editor. Its so much more efiecient!

    So, i have a few map ideas that i really like, and i want to bring them onto the bnet, but most of them are still in the conceptual stages, and im not quite sure to what map i should devote my limited time towards. So im asking people what map they would most like to play.

    Reaper Pizza delivery:

    You are a reaper sent to deliver pizza, you must find the fastest possible route to your destination. The map is plagued by timed traps and ambushes, as well as surprise infestors that will fungal growth your behind.

    Fight your own madness:

    I want to have a map where im not forced to do something realistic and within the usual bounds of mapmaking, because i usually find aweseome doodad/color combinations that i want to exploit, but i never get to do it because in a serious map people would probably treat them as eyesoars. To justify a map like this, i've devised a plot where you have gone mad, and you must regain control of your own mind. to do this you will take control of different imaginative units like the rainbow archon, the uberlisk and the like, in a quest to defeat your inner demons, and madness. The gameplay can be anything from, being in command of a baneling that is being chased by hungry zerglings which you have to kill by exploding yourself just as the zerglings get close to you, to a godzila kind of map where you have to destroy a city.

    posted a message on How to make a building use the Reaper's Cluster Bomb?

    I duplicated the ability and the button to a turret but whenever i test it in-game, the ability button doesn't appear. So I don't know whether I copied the ability wrong, or if the button doesn't work.

    p.s. it has nothing to do with the unit type, I also tried to tack the ability onto an organic unit, but no luck.

    Help?

    Im using .ogg and .wav when i import them, there is no problem with the triggers im using, so i assume its a data problem. Any tips?

    So I copied place spider mine ability but I replaced its model with the Ulnar Fog of War curtain and removed the original behaviors, but i can't duplicate the LoS blocking effect on a unit. Has anyone gotten close to something like this and want to share?

    I wish I could participate in Sc2 mapster contests but its just so damn time consuming for students like me who get so much homework that they can't take a good deep breath without homework falling on top of them.

    Do you think that the current SC2 mapster contests are casual friendly? Why or why not?
