    Blizzard: We've implemented a fix in an upcoming patch. We apologize for the difficulties, and I'll post updates on an ETA as I get more information.

    Blizzard: The current plan is less than a month, closer to a few weeks, but that is an estimate only, and I'll provide updates as I can.

    Any lobby with more than about 7 players (variable) seems to bug out when trying to start (kicks random players and leaves lobby open OR kicks all players)

    Screws up all "large lobby" games ....

    You might have an additional problem.

    If you have all the locales populated, then any player users the map for that locale will have issues.

    So ... _IF_ you are not actively populating the content of all the other locales, then you should make sure they are not enabled.

    MENU: Map... Locale... Modify Locales... and then in the list DESELECT all locales that you are not supporting (ie: If English EN(US) is only one SELECTED, then that's pretty normal for people with english as first language).

    In a trigger you do it like this:

    Tech Tree - Set Dark Protoss upgrade level to 1 for player SkinRequestor
    

    And to 0 to back it out. Obviously the above impacts ALL units with an upgrade path for that player (SkinRequestor) It is worth noting however that some of the units have multiple varients, for example (unit) Immortal with Dark Protoss upgrade is VERY SIMILIAR but not identical to (unit) Immortal Tel'Darim (vanguard)

    can you elaborate on what you are trying to achieve? ... obviously you cannot just add files with those names, but is that really what you want, or do you want to update the content of the gamestrings.txt etc, or create different versions for different locale's, etc.???

    Yes, game companies just assume you have 100Mbps links with uncapped download these days. Even for those of us that do, the above is STILL annoying.

    A nice suggestion ... i actually tried that ... and LoadingScreen/Help00 - Help (which is what the defaults are). No joy unfortunately. I guess if it was going to work it would have been displaying the default messages and not the absence to /Tip.

    I've noticed a couple of other things:

    1. The problem only occurs when the Map -> Map Loading Screen... -> Type: value is set to "Custom". If i reset it to "Melee" then loading screen tips appear normally (but with overlap of total number of entries... which is larger at 00-61 in LotV).

    2. If i create a totally new map and do nothing but change the Map -> Map Loading Screen... -> Type: value to "Custom" then it breaks the LoadingScreen tips (the default ones). (ie: exactly the same as in my map).

    Now i thought I'd create this post before, but it doesnt seem to be anywhere i can find it, so im having another go ...

    With Patch 3.0 all my loading screen tips (of which there were multiple) have stopped working.

    I have Game UI Data -> Default SC2 UI Settings -> UI: Loading Screen Help matrix setup with an array of items which used to show correctly before Patch 3.0.

    I have Map -> Map Loading Screen ... -> Text: Help set as null "".

    i can successfully change the Map Loading Screen .. Text: Help to be space " " and get no loading screen tips at all. i can successfully change the Map Loading Screen .. Text: Help to be whatever text i like and get that singular message as help text.

    But when i try to leave it null, the only thing is get is one loading screen message that has the name of the variable LoadingScreen/Tip and it does not use my matrix of tips.

    Any suggestions ?? Anybody got this working following Patch 3.0 ??? The setup i have worked welll prior to the Patch.

    Any suggestions for other things to check / verify would be appreciated.

    More likely you are being caught out by the change to locales, especially if you were publishing in EN(UK) - and on map or loading screen you said "update all locales" which sort of fixed it.

    You should probably convert to EN(US) to avoid other problems.

    Blizzard created this problem some time ago when they tried to fix the issue of trolls stalling lobbies indefinitely by inviting players that were AFK. The patch notes for the update said that Hosts would be able to kick PENDING players, but in reality the host is able to kick any player, so the trolls (if they can get host) have a much more brutal way of stalling lobbies.

    Needs blizzard to fix it. There are lots of posts about it in the BattyNet forums.
