    Check also:

     

    SC2 Game Options -> Gameplay -> Simple Command Card.    can cause many 'complex' buttons not to show up.

     

    In Data editor, the Button:   (Basic) UI:  Hides for Simple Text    enabled/disabled seems to control this (i think - looks right, but didn't double check).

     

    I would recommend is ALL maps using the following statements in the initialization trigger:

     

    Player - Override Enable Simple Command Card option for player (Picked player) to Disabled

    <Clan> Rohime .... yes, the clan name being a type of group... ( click the groups icon (bottom right of sc2 screen) and "create" type "Clan"). Im sure you understand the concept...

    I've seen a few discussions related to the issue of strings vs. text ... but I'm wondering if anybody has managed to successfully detect a clan name in a trigger, and use that clan name and branch to different logic. Even a detect and manipulate bank file and re-back to process as logic branch would do ... ?

    Anyone ? Any way ? Any how?

    I remain hopeful .... one day.

    Blizz already kick pending players after a shorter period... that got done in the same patch that created the kick problem. The release notes for the change that introduced kick said the host was only able to kick PENDING players. It doesnt work as the patch notes say it should.

    I dont think it would work. As Tya suggests, creating a new free account is really easy. Not sure if you saw it, but our [Probes vs Zealot 2] "troll of the year" for last year actually posted a 'how i make a new account for trolling in under 45 seconds' on sc2gump.com

    I'd be more inclined to suggest that "free" accounts can host arcade games, but should not get host privileges. ie; a free account host cannot kick people ... but if people do legitimately need kicking from lobby (long time penders - an issue which has basically gone away - or people that continually invite penders to stop the lobby from starting), then host can be passed to somebody on a paid account, who has those rights.

    Should be simple enough to implement...

    With [Probes vs Zealot 2] we have a fair bit of 'trouble' with trolls over the years, and have tried several methods to manage. Any severe action (like banning) has typically made the troll significantly worse for a reasonably long period of time (at least weeks). The worst trolling action is the capability to prevent players being able to play by obtaining Host of a lobby, and host just kicking people from said lobby for hours and hours and hours. It happens. You dont want it to happen to your game, especially if it is popular.

    There are more subtle options, and escalation paths with those options. For example: 1) text tag "troll" 2) negative buffs for 'trolls'. 3) inhibit ranking up in game (but not ability to play). 4) Changed Models for troll units (if this makes sense in context of game) [The WC3 Axe Wielder?]

    other players can also be encouraged to self moderate, with Vote Kick systems. (BUT these Vote Kick systems tend to have their own downsides).

    Whilst all the above are ideas, the key thing i recommend is to use all of them as a last resort but ALWAYS remember: Trolls seek attention. So ignore them. If you need to act, create capability that allows the other players in game to effectively ignore them

    Do you use Chinese Language ? There can be issue with the editor locale settings if you use chinese in game ...

    Check EditorVariables.txt for:

    localeidassets=enUS localeiddata=enUS localeidinstall=enUS

    If localeidinstall is chinese it causes exactly this symptom.
