Grom thats awesome. You're scripts, interface, models etc. on my map/maps and we would have the perfect wow mod.

@all: Sorry for not answering for days now but I was very busy. To answer the "big cave question":

You can only make the ground of the cave with the editor. The mountain that covers the entrance and the ceiling are custom models which I've made with 3ds max and textured them with the original sc2 textures to perfectly fit.

Yes that's exactly my plan (when I really begin to make this project bigger :) )

You can make a large connected world with regions like in a MMO but with loadtimes between them. But a single region isn't that small you can add a lot of different quests with a few hours of playtime on each map.

Not yet, I've paused the work on the map because I've no time to add more stuff for the next 2 weeks.

So you can expect more in 2-3 Weeks or maybe some updates in between but no downloads in this time period.

I will keep on adding more stuff to it and when it's full of RPG elements it would be a waste of time to not add gameplay. So when I find more great RPGs element I will look for someone who will add gameplay to it.

But when I don't find the time to put more work onto the map I will maybe release it how it is but this map is just 5 days old so lets wait for what I can add first :)

Ah that's what I was looking for, I had no Idea how to stop that fading. Can you pls tell me more about the priorities and how I can fix this?

EDIT: Ah got it now, it's the CModel_Occlusion which controlls the fade, I'm pretty sure that I've tried this but now the fading is gone :D

4 days and like 2-3 hours a day.

    p.s. my computer isn't that great. I've a 3 years old 8800GTX and a Q6600 Quad Core CPU.

The performence over all isn't that bad in tps games, just the ground objects are a big problem, so we need a streaming engine.

But I've heard that a team here at sc2mapster is actually working on a camera based streaming system, which fades out objects you can't see. If they can make this working we can build amazing RPGs, combining multiple areas to create a whole RPG world.

This is very impressing. Are you going to add something to this map?

Yes I will add more stuff to the map, maybe a city or something like that. I will try to find solutions for a lot of things you need for a RPG game. If you have Ideas what would be great after dungeons let me know.

    But nothing with scripting :)

the entrance and the first cave are mad out of rock arches, the mountain at the entrance and the roof of the main cave are custom models I've created.

The lightning and dynamic music is based of regions

I've started this map without the dungeon in mind, so there is much more crazy stuff possible when you set up the whole map for it.

I'm not good with all the coding and scripting stuff so I can't fill the map with mobs, Quets, NPCs and RPG stuff but maybe this will be somehow done in the near future :)

I want to capture the look and feel of World of Warcraft and port it into a Starcraft 2 Map. It's more about mapping and not that much scripting and stuff but maybe it's a little bit entertaining.

I really like the idea of making 3rd person RPGs with the power of this Editor. This isn't meant to be a real Mod or something. I will never release a fully working version with gameplay, because I can't handle all the coding and scripting but I hope someone or better a little team of mappers/coders will make a real RPG like this

Tell me what you think about the map.

The performence is pretty bad, I have to look down a lot to get an acceptable framerate but thats because of my slow PC which can't handle playing and screen capturing.

p.s. and sorry for my bad english :)

posted a message on How can you controll the Doodad Fade amount?

I did some more testing and the fading is linked to the camera. I haven't found it yet but I think there must be an option for camera objects, which contains the fade amount

I've checked the trigger editor to see if there is something to dynamicly change this kind of stuff but I didn't find it either, but there must be a way to change this, because when you wanna create a 1st person shooter you don't wanna let anything fade away.
