    Okay I am ready to get back into working on my map a little bit. I am very inexperienced with models and do not have a student version of max 2011. I am a 3 year c++ programmer, I feel this editor is built too simple for me and I tend to overlook everything... The only models I have worked with are .obj models. Can someone help me get this model working how I need it to? The current model is great although, it needs to have a collision sphere. Also, the walk and stand animations need to be blank. The walk start should be the penguin getting on its stomach and walk end should be the penguin getting back up. Some suggestions for a simple attack animation would be nice as well. Thanks everyone, I realize these things may be time consuming, I have tried to get it working with 3ds max 12 with no luck.

    Do they have to be in the form of a .m3a? Or can I just play certain frames for walk start and walk end?( there is NO walking animation )

    What if I reexported and had stand animation blank, how would I get it to play certain frames on movement start and movement stop? Actor events?

    The problem I have had with galaxy is the lack of pointers, templates, dynamic memory alloc, dynamic containers. Also, I have not seen any documentation of all the functions, macros and data types for galaxy.

    It has no animation for walking or standing. I want it to play an animation when it starts and stops walking but nothing more.

    Currently all the animations are stored in the same file. Isn't that how it should be done?

    Man how I wish I could just write cplusplus code for sc2. I could do so many more things, sadly you cant. :(

    I have just imported a model to replace the zealot model, so I went into the zealot actor and changed the model. Now I cannot select the units with mouse drag select. Also, the whole animation is playing while standing( it should stand motionless). I want the unit to slide on its stomach. So movement start play frames 1-2, movement stop play frames 2-3. Is there anyway I can accomplish all of this?

    Thanks for the replies, is the poly count a real problem? Is it just for the community exporter or will it work with art tools? If no, is there an easy way to reduce poly count? Also, I don't understand how the animation can be 3 frames, it wouldn't look an an animation at all( unless art tools fills it in for you ). I also, do not see a SC2standard material, just SC2 material or standard.

    Please help, I have tried everything, no matter what kind of sc2 material I use it says I have none and wont export any data. If I am being of too much trouble, the model is finished, if someone would export it for me that would be great.( I don't have 3ds max 2011 no student version available on net, but I can export as a 2011)

    Thanks for the reply again, yea I figured because I searched the web for some time for one. I am not very 'good' so to speak with 3ds max, how can I apply solid color,(without composite) what part of the material do I need to use?( I am not using alpha blending( transparency ), blur effects or anything like that, just solid color, ex RGB ).

    Can anyone supply me with a link or an installer for 3ds max 2011(student version) so I can try to use the art tools exporter?
