posted a message on [Data] Revive Heroes

I Followed this step-by-step, but the button is there when my hero is alive, but then disappears when my hero dies, and also is confusing my hero with a unit i used to have flagged as a hero. I just have a normal Starcraft hero. Did i do anything wrong?

EDIT: I fixed the Button vanishing after dead silliness. There's an option in the data table listed as Shared Flags with only one option "Disable After Dead" As anyone can imagine, a revive ability is useless if it can't be activated when the unit is dead right? :D

posted a message on Marine Tribes.

My first map, Marine Tribes is one of those which could be called a variant gametype map of normal melee games. There's not really any sort of tech tree yet, but so far you use marines to build, repair and gather resources, using them for combat isn't recommended, since a zergling could easily kill it alone. You can also make bunkers, sensor towers which can scan areas, salvageable refineries and tank turrets which have a blink ability (The blink ability doesn't work yet. I don't know why). There are 3 other players at the moment, and each has an identical hero unit (which will be able to revive) alongside The Asylum, a ridiculously tough Barracks which gives you all your unit production, and research, aswell as the ability to revive your hero upon death near it. (Revive at The Asylum doesn't work, i don't know how to allow Resurrection points to move with liftable buildings). There are few resources in a single place; Every mineral field is scattered throughout the map, giving you a reason to explore and guard areas more so than in normal games (atleast i think so).

Also there is a Dungeon-type area that is filled with goodies and baddies, including a Brutalisk. I'm intending the taking of the place to be really hard to pull off, you know, cause it's got a big boss marker on it.

It's pretty much just a PvP sort of map when you get to the minimum of it. Also i'm looking for someone to test it when i get the hero revive triggers done.

posted a message on I can't give an Auto-Turret a working Blink ability.

Yeah, on the Units Data table, i have the blink ability assigned to Auto-Turret, with it linked on the command card via the button. Ingame, it can be seen and even used (when the ability is researched ofcourse) but when you try to target somewhere near the unit with the blink ability, it says "Can't Find Target Location" Even if you click directly on the unit with the ability.

I've given an Auto-Turret the ability to Blink (the stalker one) and placed the button on it's command card but i can't see the button ingame for some reason. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong? I probly need a flag or something don't i?

Also I have a beard, but i like to keep it short. If i don't then i end up evolving into a crazy lumberjack who kills critters and throws them at cars in the middle of traffic. :P

posted a message on Hello, you can call me Stormy

I have come here with a couple of annoyances that has to do with the SC2 map maker, but first i'll introduce myself. I prefer people to call me Stormy, or Troy if you like. Starcraft 2 is pretty much the only game i've stopped playing for a time, and then gone back to it, possibly a year or months later, the only one. I started playing when i was about 9, and you'd think by now i'd be pretty great at it, well no not really, a good number of years i actually sucked constantly at it, and it wasn't until a year before SC2 came out i was able to beat a computer, or two at the same time as zerg. Well, irony put itself on my shoulders since i now play as Terran, and i think i'm really good, but i always sucked playing them, even if i wanted to be good with them.

Aside from Starcraft, i like to draw, i have a youtube video series i do on many different games, and i am sometimes out of walks and stuffs. I also like to be asked questions, so by all means go ahead and ask if you have any!

Now for my mapping problem. I mostly have to complain how there isn't a single resource on blizzard's main site, that makes sense of atleast their reason to change Conditions from "Something you can understand at first glance" to "Warcraft 3 Boolean-type nonsense you need to be a math or coding wiz to understand how to use" Also i want to make a hero which will revive itself automatically upon death at a building which can relocate itself. I haven't a clue how to make or apply effects or anything other than changing health, damage, adding shields and changing names, and stuff like that.
