Agree with TwoDie and I must add that wow models are designed quite differently. They are very detailed which makes them very noisy from the sc2 games perspective. I think the whole point is to make few big details which will be seen from far away. Also the model itself should be a bit bold or chunky like Triceron said. All in all, I think wow models are just designed for different perspective.

    Thank you all for comments!

@Zolden, nice idea! I will think about it.

@TwoDie, yes spot on. I have started it quite a long time ago and I am working on it very very slowly. The reason is my main job. I am working in games company 8 hours daily and this is my side project which I do in my spare time for fun. But I will try to publish the map quite soon and then I will be adding more staff to it in the future. My next assets would be

    - Alliance statue - cliffs - small decals (grass, bushes, flowers...) - city doodads (bench, shop signboards, fountain...) - bridge

Hi all ! I am quite new here and I decided to show what I have been working on for a while

I have decided to make my own version of WC4 level environment on sc2 engine. My main inspiration and reference is the upcoming Heroes of the storm game. So I will try to get as close as possible to it in terms of art style. Of course I am not planning to just copy everything from them as it is kind of pointless since you will probably get your hands an all of their assets as soon as the game will be released. However, the terrain part will be very close to theirs as I love how it looks. I will publish the map as soon as I finish all the necessary art models.

    wip1 wip2

The house uses a lot of tileable parts thus making it possible to build a lot of different variations. some house model wip images:

bricks bricks2 thatch wall house house lowpoly house normals ground plates

PS. the footman model is done by Triceron

posted a message on how to update imported file in the galaxy editor

I tried the component list and it is pretty good. A lot better to work this way but it is too sad that there is no realtime update on the file as soon as I save it in art application. Actually the update shows up if I press test document but I would like to get it in the editor as well. Anyway thanks for help!

posted a message on how to update imported file in the galaxy editor

    Hi all!

My question is how to update imported file in the galaxy editor ?

I am working on a texture in photoshop and I would like to be able to test my texture at any stage of the painting process. However, if I overwrite the file and reimport it in the editor nothing happens in there and I still get the old file . So for now I am forced to save the file with different name and import it as new one. This is quite inconvenient as I get about 30 versions of the same texture.

Hi. I am quite new here.

So are you able to port Heroes's models and textures to the Sc2 ? Can you export grass textures for example ?

PS. it is not a request.
