There is no doubt they can find AN answer. Whether that answer will be "right" or make any sense is a lot more dubious.

    <<quote 1722650>> THIS IS THE GENIUS !!!!!!!
Just a quick list of the plot holes in HotS; these are the most egregious ones, but I will add more nitpicky ones later. Feel free to add your own. I hope CDev takes note of these.

So many of them I never even thought of !

The first three are fan-made, the others are the symbols shown in the manual for the various Protoss tribes. Whoever made the pictures also colored them to the color the tribe had in the original game.

posted a message on Red-colored HotS evolutions

    Hello artists.

We are currently working on the HotS version of the Mass Recall Brood War remake, and we are considering the use of "Hydralisks (Morphs into Lurker)", Swarmling and/or Raptor as models for the Hunter Killer and Devouring One heroic units.

The problem is, these units have distinct blue and green colors that do not change with team colors and look somewhat out of place in the level, especially since the units always have a red team colour. We would need these blue/green areas to be changed to be either team-colored or changed to red.

Could any of you modelers make these changes? Your contribution will be credited in the Mass Recall pages.

The only realistic way to balance a map is to test it. Tools and formulas can make things faster, but at some point you have to play the full map and check how it turns out - be it by playing it yourself, making a beta or sending it to friends.

    Quote from EivindL: Go

Banelings run away from their own attack waves. I suppose they don't have their "attack structures" ability turned on. Also: All attack waves (at least on normal) are targeted towards the main base. I prefer using a player, not a location, as a target, as the enemy can find you even when you expand, but that's me, I guess. Some of the overlords are obviously set to land at the back of the base, which means they are easy to take out. Using attack wave waypoints is tricky that way. I mean, where do you put them?

Randomizing attack paths can be fun if done sparingly. Put a few more way or target points on the map, use a random integer to choose the path taken by the wave and change one of them when the player takes an expansion. It is more unsettling that it sounds, the player can't predict the pattern and he has to be ready for the most powerful waves at all of the vulnerable areas. Depending on the map, the difficulty can be increased significantly.

That Dark Archon is awesome. Would use in Mass Recall, especially if the portrait textures are not too heavily modified.

posted a message on AI Attack(wave) problem [SOLVED]

What I would do is to put a point called "Player 2 attacks here" in player 3's base. Set this point as the target for player 2's waves. Then, add a trigger that moves your "P2 attacks here" point to player 1's base once player 3's base is destroyed.

There may be more elegant solutions, but that should work.

I am also interested in knowing when your defiler will be textured. That's something we could use in the Mass Recall HotS update.

We don't have HotS yet, and I don't want to know what is in the files in case it would spoil the campaign. The only thing I can say it that we will also put the remake on HotS, but you should make a final Wings of Liberty version so that people who don't buy HotS can still play a good remake.

Speaking of which, are you done with the episodes & mod, so that I can update them on the pages?

It's okay, "sorry, I didn't realize the word 'have' was so imperative in English" would have been enough. There is no king of the remake and you are certainly not an inferior scum :p

@Zarxiel: I didn't have time to add the triggers you spoke of this week-end, will do at some point during the week.

Let's get some things straight. I don't use these models because I don't want to. I only use custom models for units that don't have any appropriate equivalent in Starcraft 2, I don't think putting them everywhere will improve player experience, and I don't "have" to tell you anything.

These maps and mod are hundreds of hours of work; I'm a bit uncomfortable when players change them as they please, and I am not particularly happy with the fact that you call yourself "sc1 remake" while only The Torrasque and Soulflicher brought something we actually used when making the maps. You can still do whatever you like as long as you stick to the Italian version, and I consider all the suggestions that you make, but when I don't follow them, do not insist. Least of all, do not make comments on our campaign pages claiming you know better than us. I'm fine with suggestions or negative criticism, not with messages "expecting" an answer because we "have" to.
