posted a message on Two Issues: Salvage Ability and Icon Color

There are two abilities. You're right, I didnt think to delete either because I assumed it was apart of the destruction of the building, for some reason. (Still learning.) For those who read this later, there's salvage, and then there's slavage - refund. Delete salvage refund.

for zerg, you have to make a salvgae ability that rewards 500 (cost tab), otherwise you will get 500 minerals for salvaging a building that probably didnt even cost half of that.

... Days later... fail! that doesnt seem to work because it gives the player 500 minerals.. stupid me. if you make it cost 500 the player then has to pay 500 to have it salvaged.. so there must be some other way.

I see that it does have a lot of posts lol but you gotta start somewhere.

but why is this thread locked? Isn't this general chat? If people are responding then isn't it worth keeping up? Encourage the activity of its members. This thread hasnt threatened anyone and I think there is a need for the matter i am addressing. It's proactive ultimately. lol just don't know.

So what do I do for this situation where I do not have another language? My error starts out with Param/Value/ It only pops up in my scoreboard/killboard, but in the editor all is fine, from what I can see I have saved my map as an sc2components list... documents>sc2>MyMaps>Lunar Axis of Chaos.SC2Map I have: enUS.SC2Data and Base.SC2Data and a bunch of others.

My map is locked, but it is public you can see for yourself: Lunar Axis of Chaos Please Help! :(

ok, I apologize for being over aggressive with you about this. I mistook your statement as a way of demeaning what I, and others, were expressing. I admire and support your "editing for dummies by dummies" idea and i think its' cause could help a lot of new editors.

I hope you continue to fill in the gaps for the new people of the editor community.

I guess i could expect skepticism. Had i been more familiar with the issues that are common here, as i am assuming many people come up with radical but still illogical ones. The idea of a seperate team is interesting but, with the intentions you speak of, not so much. perhaps an honest effort to make dictionary of all things you can do to all things. I know there is a scwiki and other sorts. but i guess this idea would definitely involve the "free contributions" of knowledge on editor subjects and more than just the people in my developing team.. I'm all for it if someone gets it started lol but we would all be just dots of ink compared to a giant masterpiece... by the time it was complete..sc would probably be finished and that makes sense because problems are always being discovered.

I agree with you Trokka, but it did seem like u were trying to make the cause and intentions of my team pointless. Think what you want but I think that it is nice to have a spot where u know you will be considered, rather than doubted from the beginning and spit to the wolves. Map editing is hard and if you have the answers you should definitely publish what you know. If you had a question someone wants the answer.. The dictionary came from somewhere.. we don't hear webster tellin people to "go figure it out".

lol who made you the "trolling judge"? As far as you know this thread may be bs but it is my attempt at letting it be known to remember the help you had and pass it on. Your barrels... yea thats trolling. queens gone wild?? you could be into that sort of thing but what I'm talking about pertains to the way pros treat noobs and you've just become a prime example. You think that what I have to say is pointless or garbage, well I can say that by the amount of posts there are a lot more ppl aside from you that recognize my opinion, who share my experiences, who have felt the same from "angry pro editors". If not then they are here to sympathize with me on the faulty experiences I, and any other aspiring editor, have had while seeking solutions.

Heres a thought... instead of labeling other peoples concerns as trolls, because that is easy when you have nothing else to say, try contributing to the topic substantively rather than making yourself look like some degree of a "angry pro editor".

The popularity system is also very "guided" by "angry pro editors". Think about it.... Noobs cant ask for help, and finding the answer has been proven to be somewhat diffcult. Seriously, you'd think that after all this time of the fiddling with the editor and the noobs it has chewed and spit out, all questiones would have been publicly addressed. Nope!

Sadly, the way to make an overmind (hardly original at all!) to function as the next building above the Hive is not at all common?? am I the only one who thought of this?? i think not and many other stupid little questions i remember pissing my pants about... pylon power field range?? lol anyway they arent common enough I guess... so those that know the answers will make great maps and unfortunately some do have an attitude. those with the attitude are the ones that divide the sharks from the fish.. and if u follow the metaphor fish are the ones with all the color.. potential uniqueness.

    Quote from Nardival: Go

    @DarcZaFire: Go

I spent the first few months from about July 2010 until December 2010, religiously learning all I could about the Editor and compiling into various wiki's which existed at the time..

It was a thankless task, and when it dawned on me that I had university exams, a girlfriend and a social life to uphold - I stopped. But mainly, I realised just how much knowledge the editor contained.

I do agree with you on a certain level, however. I wish all threads on sc2mapster would have detailed replies, explaining how to do stuff. I understand if you've been here a while, you can get fed up of the same questions over and over again - resulting in a blunt but to the point answer - such as "Use this field", or "Look under this object".

But, to balance this people must learn to use the forum search because otherwise what is standard common knowledge is simply being regurgitated thousands of times. Yet, still, when I use the search for a slightly obscure problem I'm having, because I'm convinced others have experienced it in the past... I turn up a handful of threads, each with vague, nondescript answers - or my favourite... when the thread author has replied with: "Omg, never mind. I fixed it."...

Oh, people replied... had this tab amongst my hundreds of others. Oh well :) Random Topic, Random Rant Reply.

You're awesome for saying what you said. about detailed descriptions lol.. I tried doing something like that on bnet and got told to stop. .that they were getting tired of seeing my thread at the top of the list with answered questions... and "stupid" questions that "anybody" could figure out.

Yea, I've been on team liquid. Glad I came here because the content is very.. much? theres so much. Problem I have with this sight is that search box on the top right doesnt seem to provide as accurate of results as i have had on bnet and tl., and the approval time for things that come in millions, like a team, a map.. ect. I have had my fair share of run ins.. .with goods and bads of editors... I think the goods should just go here and tl takes the bads. this way I can avoid wanting to lose my cool for the sake a teaching someone some manors. The world is not a polite place but wth is wrong with making a gaming experience fun. I know a lot of ppl dont try.. they do take advantage and u do have to "weed" them out lol sorry.. ur own effort is required. But my effort here is to address the chums who feel high and mighty cuz they do know a lot... or just more than the other. It's like they just pass on the bad treatement they recieved and the cycle just goes and goes. There has to be a limit.

We aim to be the largest team of editors sc2mapster has seen! 1.What region do you play in? US

2.What time zone are you, and what hours are you available? Eastern timezone usually from about 8am to 8pm, and may jump back on after a movie or two with the wife around 10 on til 2-3 in the morning lol..

3.What are some methods of contact(msn, skype, AIM, etc..)? my in game id is 558. giving out my number is another way but that depends. Skype sux oovoo is better. and that can be another way.

4.What are you doing for this project? I am making a tug of war, but everyone esle who is apart of this team pretty much has their own projects as well. The goal of this team is to answer questions as best as we can, and to be a group of editors willing to help.. unlike most. Ultimately, we want to see awesome uses of imagination and effort.

5.What roles do you need filled? I personally need help with balancing costs. and spawn times as well as a few other issues.

6.What do you have done on the map up to this point? I have made the terrain. I have completed most of the triggers, a killboard, unit data, with the exception of the kill/scoreboard carrying over into future games and unit life/armor amounts for balancing... My map is called Lunar Axis of Chaos, I intend to take the spot of nexus wars on the popularity list. Please try to include images or videos. There is an image attached in my profile as well as an up to date publish in-game. But over the top we are looking for anyone interested in helping and contributing.

7.A description of the project/team itself so people know what they're getting into. This team is made up of "nice" people who do not have a chip on their shoulder about getting and providing help.

8.How much time are you willing to invest in this project per week? I am on here a lot, so much so that my wife has gotten used to me "being in my corner".

9.Who else is working on the project? BravoJuliet, TWOwords, Neebs, Firefly, Darkoblivion, darkwalker, TRENT, Lazarus, and xkennyx... Hopefully will all be apart of this team... and hopefully u will too.

Please: edit your profile pic to something snazzy and download teamviewer at teamviewer.com for the us to be able to help eachother most accurately.
