So.... result: I can't decide which is better, the handmade fire texture, or the FumeFX fire texture...

Yes, i know that as well, but most of those effects are still based off textured particles, and the StarCraft engine doesn't support most of those (with the exception of cloth physics).

I mean i can use the FumeFX simulations to create textures to use in the game engine, not directly using fumefx to make fire in-game, that'd be utterly ridiculous. :P

Speaking of, i just finished downloading and installing FumeFX... and making a 64-frame fire effect, i'm going go try to use them on a particle emitter and see how it looks.

That moment when you realize all your studies into fire were for naught, because technology can do that all for you.

Still, i'm still very impressed with myself, considering my fire effect rivals most fire effects in some triple A games today.

Also, great work, if you can learn photoshop wizardry, you can make some REALLY cool effects.

    @IskatuMesk: Go

Did you make those fumefx textures? the textures i used were made off other rendering methods... and lots, and lots of photoshoping.

I literally never make showcases for my models, but this one in particular is loved so much by me and other people that i decided to showcase it here. This is literally THE best-looking fire model rendered in real time that i've ever seen; it took me a REALLY long time to make such effect, lots of research into how fire behaves, practicing animation and effects in general, trying to understand how the shaders look in-game and how fire actually looks and glows in real life, but i did it. The apex of fire effects in, at the very least, StarCraft 2. (In my opinion anyway)

I also wanted to take this an opportunity for a fire model thread in general, since i've not seen one around. If you made a really cool fire model, share it here!

Sounds good, but i'll have to think about it.

If anyone else is interested in hiring me, i'm still considering more jobs.

So, correct me if i'm wrong, but you need these abilities done, once they're done you need an upgrade for each to activate them and make them usable, and then you need each ability to have 3, 4, 5 or more upgrades to improve said ability's statistics, correct?

I usually charge roughly 3 to 10 dollars per hour. Depends on how much any given person is willing and able to pay.

Hi, i'm looking for a job, I can do pretty much everything model-related, texturing, mesh building, rigging, animating, special effects, and to a very limited degree, sound and data. I'm most definitely NOT looking for a long-term commitment at this moment, and I'm not looking for a job that requires a lot of data or trigger work.

If you're interested or have any questions, PM me or make a post here.

I'm interested, is there any other details i should know? Do you need to know specifically what i can do? How fast are the tasks expected to be completed?

Edit: Here's my latest handiwork. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ty2rddranvb2fsv/Cover%20System%201.flv?dl=0

So, I was working on a map, practicing special effects, lighting, modeling, texturing, and pretty much everything related to art that can be done on the Starcraft engine, when i realized that with my new graphics card i could record video, so i figured i'd record what i achieved and post it here!

I doubt i'll make a game out of it, but if anyone wants to use the assets i used or just has any questions, just ask here.
