For those of you who have maps where large unit counts are possible, you've probably come across the issue where units begin to get created without weapons, or lacking movement, eventually to a situation where units spawn without actors. Most of the time this is accompanied by the minimap 'spazzing' out, with each unit flickering on the minimap.
My question is what is the actual limit to the number of units possible on a map?
Are all units equal - is it possible for 1000 units of one type to exist without issue, while 500 units of another type would cause the limit to be reached (i.e. more actor data, more memory usage)??
For one of my maps I've basically had to strip the terrain of doodads and implement different economic systems to prevent the unit limit from being reached.
