Since the object to my topic is called assets, I believe I'm in the right forum. Yesterday, I have heard of Warcraft III assets being released for the Heart of the Swarm PTR. I downloaded the PTR, but I did not find the dependency mod for the Warcraft III assets that Battle.Net had promised us, not even a mod file that says "Wc3.SC2Mod". It's like the file is non-existent. Why can I not find it?
I now have a new problem. I found what you were talking about, thus I found the dependency mod; but I can't find any of the assets in the dependency file. No units, no models, no actors, nothing. I searched everywhere in the data editor. Nothing. I have heard that this problem is extremely popular among other modders. How do I fix this?
Well, I have the mod file from my previous thread, but I need the one called "Wc3.SC2Mod". Where is it? There are no other dependencies besides the Art Mod file.
Well, it looks like the PTR is still accessible in terms of using the map editor. I'm on there right now. All I can say is that maybe the Warcraft III models would have to be exported and transferred to a mod for the regular servers in case the PTR decides to shut down completely, and so that the maps and resources can be properly tested. However, it's quite a lot of them, but I'm not seeking for all of them.
My concern for Warcraft III models for SC2 is due to a project that I had going in the Warcaft III World Editor. I wanted to create a crossover between Warcraft and StarCraft, but nothing like Heroes of the Storm. There were StarCraft models made as mods for the World Editor, but they were either a lousy design or the textures wouldn't work. I also wanted it to be an FPS, but it was impossible to achieve in the World Editor. I know, not exactly the best of ideas for mods, but there you have it.

Did you start a new map and go to dependencies -> add standard ->War3?
Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)

Sorry, there is no standard dependency by that name; and yes, I started a new map. Why am I not seeing it?
Look, is it possible for any of you modders to send me the files for the dependencies? That's assuming I can't find them?
Maybe ita down or make sure you openned the (PTR) editor
Uhh...PTR editor?
There is a seperate editor for the PTR, you can access it via Battle.net app

They're raw assets. You need to make a new model and assign the asset to it yourself.

Right. Well, this is going to take a while.
Yep, though Renee2islga has a public mod that puts these to use, and I'm sure we'll be seeing more as well.

Well, the dependency mod I found is under a different name. It's called "Warcraft III (Art Mod)".

Has anyone made a map with the Warcraft III mod?
People have however they cannot really be tested at the moment as the PTR has been shut down due to a lack of resources.

Shut down? How long ago was this?
Today

I do apologise if I was off by a day, it was happening so soon anyway that running extensive playtests would be impossible.
Once the mod (patch) is released you should be able to link it like any other standard mod I would imagine.
@ImperialGood: Go Lack of Resources? You could test Renee's Warcraft 3 mod, my Warcraft 1 mod and also there was a ship battle map i've seen.
