To prepare for the upcoming Melee AI mod and to better organize the existed mod, I split the core mod: War3 (GA) into two, one is asset only, one is data only
War3 (GA): Now only contains all models and sounds
War3 Data (GA): A new mods, includes all data of the old War3 (GA) mod.
War3 Extra (GA): Now automatically depend on the both two mods above.
War3 Terrain (GA): Unchanged.
By doing so, it can be easier for any future changes for the base mod. Before this change, Every time I modify the core mod, I would need to re-upload all the 35M assets with it. By split them apart, I only need to re-upload the War3 Data (GA), which is only 900+k.
And the player also won't need to download all the 35M assets each time I made some changes to the core mod.
What's the impact to the map which already use the war3 mod before?
Basically, you doesn't need to change much if you already set your map to War3 Extra (GA). All you need to do is download the latest versions of each mod from the battle.net and resave them.
Note the War3 Data (GA) mod needs to be saved as 'Mods\Warcraft\WarCraftData.SC2Mod', since it a new mod.
Also you will need to have the War3 Data (GA) resaved before you can download the new War3 Extra (GA).**
