Ok so I think I figured it out. I had to put "map initialization" for "events". But, when I tested it out, it said they are "neutral" idk if thats the same thing as "ally" or not.

I'm pretty certain that no matter if it's an Ally or just plain Neutral it will say Neutral when you select them. Don't quote me on this though.
However, since you did configure your trigger to make them ALLIES I'm sure they're probably allies.
If you really want to test to be sure, you can try adding another enemy unit to the field and have it attack the player. If the advisor says your allies are under attack, it's an ally. But I son't think that's neccesary since your trigger is correct set-up. I just don't recall seeing anything else other than Neutral or Enemy unit when I click on enemies. I don't think they have an Ally one.

Heh, that just made me think, since you could just set a neutral to do essentially the same stuff as an ally through triggers... That'd be one way to avoid that "your ally's under attack" in tug of war type maps. In the past I've just edited the data alert stuff.
Anyone know why the Terrans cannot build thors and mines but can build the warhound and siege mode is back as an upgrade? I didnt change any of that so idk why that happened.
Warhound is not supposed to be in the factory, thors and mines and the helbat unit is supposed to be there and the siege mode upgrade is not supposed to be in the tech lab.
You probably don't have the right dependencies loaded up for your map. Sounds like you might have one of the old beta dependencies loaded instead of the newer ones.

Anyone know why no one can be the protoss player. idk if putting players 1-6 on the same team messed that up or not. I just dont understand that when I only have two players, it works, but more than two it doesnt.

Its like only the AI can be Protoss unless I only make it two players.... Anyone know how I can fix that?
This is how my game is: Player 8 is the Protoss and players 1-6 are the Terrans.
Idk what I am doing wrong.
I got the player group for local variable.
Under "Actions" I added each player to the player group in the local variable.
Then under "Actions" I made make all players from the variable treat each other as ally.
it doesnt work.
"Set alliance for player group" I went to that. But before that, also in actions, I added each player to the group individually.

Can I change that without having to start over?

Change the player properties in your map. Also look at the game variant... You can lock players to a certain race that way.

Yes you are right.
