Hey everyone, in the process of finding an ideal system for my next map, I made this demo (see attached) to toggle between two different methods of doing Diablo style movement. Basically, ingame if you type -1 it will use 600+ invisible cube-units around you to track 'unit highlighted' events to determine your mouse position (basically like my Diablo tutorial way back when). If you type -2 it will switch to using Blizz's trigger events (mouse clicked and mouse moved events).
Map works for 1 or 2 players (incase you want 2) to test, and I'd recommend testing on Bnet by just publishing it privately... since locally you can't tell the mouse-delay lag. From what me and Motive found, system 1 (unit highlighted/clicked events) is more responsive than system 2 (mouse-down/mouse-moved events). However, the tradeoff is that system 1 has to make 600 invisible cubes around EACH player's hero. It may also cause other unforeseen problems with just having that many units or unit collision with large units etc...
Blizz's triggers aren't too bad... mostly Bnet lag can be found on both systems. Well, if anyone's interested go ahead and DL and publish to try it out :D I'd be glad to hear what people think...
