I uploaded a little map with a custom action definition (function) that fades the loadscreen in a pretty nice manner. It seems to be quite popular (60 downloads, which is a lot for me!) so I thought I would bump it here so that more people can see it. Basically it does the following:
When the map is loading/starting I display an custom image with a logo and some text.
When the map has finished loading I quickly throw up a fullscreen image. The image is the same as the loadscreen. This gives an effect that the loadingbar dissapeared.
Next add a fullscreen image that only contains the text and the logo. The rest is transparent. Its added on top/bottom of the other fullscreen image.
Now I slowly start reducing the transparency of the fullscreen image with color. The effect is that the logo remains while the game appears in the background. Sort of a burn mark.
When the background/fill is 100% transparent I start fading the logo.
The total effect gives a very smooth transition into the game. You can display this little show while your ingame mod/library is being constructed.
