Finished trial of the sword on normal difficulty. I had the most trouble with the first set of trials. Maybe it just took some getting used to. The freakiest moment is fighting a hinox in the darkness. I saw posts about people having trouble with the very last room, but I found it kind of easy. Just take the lynel out with an ancient arrow, then used the meteor rod on the mounted bokoblins. This sets them and their horses on fire, and kills them pretty easy. Also burns the grass so you can jump into the air and hit a bunch more with your bow.
So I've played through most of the main game in hard mode. It's mainly just the beginning that's harder since you don't have nice weapons/abilities yet. The health regen can come into play if you're fighting a large group of enemies... but as long as you're hitting an enemy fairly regularly, it won't regen health. Of course places like trial of the sword and that one island are also harder then, since you start with nothing.
Personally I haven't gotten very far in trial of the sword. I should probably jump back to normal mode and see if I can beat it there... But I feel more invested in the hard mode world now, haha.
The summer DLC comes out Friday. So for any who don't have holiday weekend plans (Fourth of July, American Holiday), you can stay busy with Zelda!
I was kind of disappointed to read the phantom armor is just a reskin of the barbarian armor (same attack bonus). I was hoping for a unique armor bonus. Maybe some of the other ones will have new bonuses.
Definitely looking forward to the Master Sword trial and hard mode though!
Soooo I may have gotten some cool unofficial amiibo cards on ebay.... and I just might have a fully leveled up Fierce Deity's set now... Ganon, I'm coming back! haha
But it is pretty crazy how scarce nintendo made amiibos. People making unofficial nfc tag merchandise feel like saints compared to people who buy amiibos just to resell them at outrageous prices.
I curious what will change with hard mode. Enemies already hit hard enough and such, and I hope it isn't something basic like health change anyways. If it were like Ocarina of Time Master Quest where they seriously change things up, that'd be super cool!
I've been wanting to try xenoblades as well! Looks like they're making a second one, so I'll probably wait for that.
I took out all the 4 bosses before going for ganon, and probably had about 10 hearts and full stamina. There's a spot you can trade hearts/stamina back n forth so I was able to have the Master sword as well. I used the Master sword against 2 of the 4 bosses. Seems like it almost doesn't matter how many hearts you have since most powerful enemies are able to one shot me lol.
Oh and as a side note, I hate how slow the SC2 editor has gotten on my computer since one of the semi-recent updates. Really puts me off wanting to work in it... I really need to buy a new computer! This one is like 4-5 years old now...
This game is super fun. And the Switch is very cool. I no longer need to make maps because I have this game! haha j/k. I do hope to make more maps.... some day... but now that I work, good games come out faster than I have free time!
I do recommend the new zelda though. It's like combining the classic 3D Zeldas with skyrim! And in Skyrim type games I've always loved exploring which is a super strong mechanic in this game!
As for the switch, I think it's so cool how easily you can go from playing on your TV to playing it as a portable. So when the wife wants to watch Netflix on tv, I can just lay back on the couch and continue playing!
When I'm done with Zelda... Mario Kart will be coming out in less than a month... :D

I looked at my map thing yesterday and it says I'm only like 25% complete, haha.
And Jay, don't forget, YOU HAVE TO GET ALL THE KOROK SEEDS! Also try not to miss any of the scrolls of protection ;)
