I wonder in general are there new people getting into mapmaking as much as there are some leaving? In other words, are the people playing sc2 just getting older in average?
hey :) never you mind ..it works again.. sorry, just thought it was worth mentioning
:)
I think this happends when editing twice without changing page. Say you post, you edit once and save, then you try to edit again and it just loads the editor endlessly. Work around is simply to actualise the page and then you can edit again once.
I can't browse it too without using the style for Stylish addon. I'm kind of sad about all this just feeling standby... I have no doubts about this beeing a huge workload with all the forums and stuff... but the side-effects...you know all that already.
@LucidIguana Oh wow, that's quite... 78 pages... that's huge. How to keep track of what is real spam from what is not? You can't just go through eatch pages? How to prevent/reduce the spamming at all? Not what is seen by the users, but globally even what is filtered.
Just saying, for me, such point system removes the idea of creating content for the community. I mean, I really feel such system to be inapropriate on a website like this one. It's not about making good content "for points" it's about making good content ''for us''. When saying "it's on you to advertise your content" this means at some point it will do like youtube, facebook or any "up voting system" where the "the most shared content" is not always the "best quality content". So it's not about advertising (and just the idea of having to advertise makes me sick)... because "you" advertised your stuff more than someone else's good content, you might end up with much more reward even though it is not as good, just like false news spreading like powder on social media, its not the most shared news that is necessarly the "true" one. Earning based on advertising your content feels wrong to me. And just the idea of "points" for "content". To me, if someone makes something awesome, it will get known no matter what.
That's just what I'm thinking, I don't mind different opinion, just want to share my point of view, and maybe find that some other people feels the same.
One thing I'd like to be adressed is the new images pop up, it's complicated to get the image link. By right clicking you either get links because of "Previous or Next" image buttons and if you are truly in the middle of the image, you can right click and inspect the code and get the image link in the code... A simple "View" button or something that would pop it to another tab with direct link to the image file would be nice.
Adding a little thing here, there is: "You have uploaded the maximum number of attachments (5)." which is limiting more than before. In the old mapster you could post more than 10 attachments.
We're working on this - just waiting on a couple of the guys to get back up and running after vacay/holidays. We're going to more closely match all the limits in place previously.
EDIT: Try now - may have removed the overall limit. Still a 5MB limit on individual file limit.
I can't upload the big image that is 9Mb that I used to be able to upload and when I try a smaller image I get:
An error has occurred while trying to save the file you uploaded: You have exceeded your maximum upload limit of 4.77 MB. This limit is based on your highest role on the site.
If this limit is based on every images you uploaded previously, I'd probably be far over that limit. I don't know how much I posted, but definitly many many images and some with very high scale. Also the limit was more than 10 Mb, and it as not related to "how many posts or how much known you are"

By spam you mean real spam or "false positive" posts that are not spam but flagged as spam? Or maybe even both...
Whenver I see a thread or post with spam I report asap.

This post back in 2011 when I was not that much known proves it: https://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/miscellaneous-development/172196-collection-of-all-doodads?comment=6
The images in the attachement weight 12.7Mb. Just with that it would be like a third of my limit? Doesn't make any sense.
