forward Xel-Naga tower now provides detection
YES!
Lol. I just found having to get an item for detect (I saw no other way for detect) really lame. But...with 2 of them out...it was an easy way to see the whole lane...
PS: You have a vision increasing helmet...what about a detecting one? That could be useful....

Should I preload all units and heroes at map initialization? This would most likely reduce the ingame lag, but it would increase loading time by a LOT (we talk about 300%+ at least)
Have a "map initializing cutscene" thing (I remember some old TKoK on WC3 having something like it) before picking hero, where it loads all the creeps and heroes. An overall bar and one for that particular section of what it's loading would be really cool! Plus, it'd let you know just how much longer you're supposed to wait. And you could have less on the loading screen and more on the initialization part.
And, couldn't you also let people look at hero descriptions without loading the actual heroes, and when it was loaded it'd have the actual heroes show up too?
Edit: I think my problem with the "roach fins" is that they're a bit too big. They just seem too large for the limb holding them.

I seriously doubt anyone wants to keep even a larva as a pet.
Anyone with half a brain wouldn't even let them be a science experiment. The UED tried that, look where it got them.

You know when I thought about the Zergling pet, I thought it'd do better for (Infested) Kerrigan, and as a summon spell. A proper pet! That, you know, actually does something. Lol.

How large can you possibly need the bank to be? For each hero you want to customize set a number for each value. Say you want skin 3, with 255/255/230RGB, and 22% transparent, and those last 3 opens are on/off/on.
I say make it easy! The bank value for Montag would look like this:
GM:325525523022101
But this is just my opinion of making it "simple", and is probably far more complicated, but still. Dumb it down to basic values for each one without labels, because it just has to find the values, not what each stands for...
Anyway. Enough of my craziness.
The customization looks awesome, and what were those skins? Especially the first one you changed it to! That looked WEIRD! O_o
Either Raynor or a Zerg hero (probably one with a Kerrigan model) should get a zergling dog "pet" :P Either as a skill or just for decoration. WC3 Terms: Locust swarm, single locust, no damage, Zergling model (but really big and on ground).
PS: For Raynor's gun swap, is there no way to have slightly different models for that? Like the Sniper Rifle one, can't you swap him to his Char model or something?
PPS: Oh, and for Thor, have normal model normally, and CE model as somethign to change to. That's nice and easy :P. And of course, Goliath as the other model. SC1 homage required. Lol.
(Part of PPS): And for Raynor, for customizing, probably Marine and War Pig models. Or Tauren Marine (but that'd be a little weird....)

Finally got the time to mess around with it a little. Just did Raynor and it was only one game, but a few thoughts.
First, maybe it's just SC2, and maybe it's the map: my laptop was going so hot the keyboard was a bit warm. Seriously, I could probably cook dinnir with the heat from this thing.
Second, I had 3 skill points left over when I maxed out my skills, and I thought it said advanced skills had like 3-4 levels, not 5. Anyway...
Third, I love the single player like mode, but when you run out of lives on that, do you lose? Didn't play long enough to tell.
Fourth, either the heroes are far too weak, the mobs are far too strong, or the income is far too much. Or perhaps a combination of those. Because I had crazy high amounts of cash and mobbing level 1 creeps could overpower me easily.
Fifth, why are some heroes disabled already? O_o
Sixth, that's all I can think of at the moment, I'll see if I can mess around with another hero tomorrow and get more thoughts to type :)

Ah, the glory of the popularity system. As long as a game is not popular, it will not be played.

Basically the less it's played the less you seem to be allowed to play it? That's just stupid. What could get kicked from top of the ladder if people play the same stupid games forever?
Granted some games take a while to get old, like this, but still!

And actually, the difference between killing units in an AoE-Circle and in a line is quite a huge one: Just play it, the feeling for most heroes is quite different, even if the abilities do not differ that much.
Very little changes can create a whole different feeling; for example take 2 heroes with a Shockwave: one has low CD less AoE, less damage and less energy cost, the other one more CD, AoE, damage and huge energy costs. While both abilites do the same thing, both heroes play very different.
Well duh. One is a spam-so-much-just-make-it-a-damaging-aura and the other is more of a "get a mass here so this is useful"

@Sandman366: Go Actually, you lose lives. So that's 40 lives out of 100 lost, if you assume that the carriers themselves die before being able to produce more =/
I think broodlings are easier to die hence they're not that much of a problem.
Well yes I know how HLW works. I used to play it quite a bit on WC3. That was kinda the point, 40 out of 100 lives IS a HUGE amount, and it's actually 45 if you count the carriers, and MORE if you let them make more interceptors.
Same problem with Broodlords; also both interceptors and broodlings provide money and experience, if I am not mistaken. I will most likely change all that.
Shouldn't they give at least a tiny bit of exp, and like, 1-5 minerals each? (Haven't played yet to know a decent amount for them) It's still a kill, and it might be infinite, but it wouldn't be easy to infinitely tank it when more of them are sent, and you'd need really good aoe skills to handle all of them.

"As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain; and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality."
Good point, since no one would bother changing the modes in public games anyway.
Btw : It might've just been my imagination but I think in the HLW game last night, I noticed something odd. Interceptors (from the carriers) that were attacking enemy heroes at the middle of the circle were warped away and counted as 1 life each. (Meaning that 5 carriers = 40 interceptors = 40 lives gone). Not really an issue I suppose, and wouldn't be worth the while to fix.
You get how many lives? I'd say 40 lives is a big chunk, unless you've got like 100k lives, which I doubt would happen. And you need to check your math...the carriers themselves also cause more lives to be lost, no?

Understandable, but seems stupid you can't publish to other areas. If you have international following, why can't you publish internationally? Bad Blizzard, can't let us publish internationally! *bash*
Whatever. It'll not have the same feeling as it being published with Kueken's name, but it'll still be the same map (unless they change something, in which case, BIG shame on them)
